Copper sulfate can be used to accelerate the decomposition of tree stumps. Multiple holes should be drilled in the stump (2” wide and deep or more is recommended), then filled with the CS. The sooner, the better after taking the tree down. I do not know if the CS Pentahydrate will have the same effect, though. Another effective method is to heap on leaf mulch. Both methods require time and patience.

My roots were found about 40 to 60 feet out from my house where my line joins the city line. After the Plumbers initially cut through the roots to clear the blockage, I started using the root destroyer. That was 2 years ago and I haven't had issues since. I have a toilet in the basement and per the directions I dump about 1/2 pound or so into that toilet and flush, repeating this about four times until I used the whole 2 pounds. I do this twice a year in late spring after the thaw and things have started showing signs of growth and in fall before the temperature drops too much. Like I said I haven't had to call a plumber since. I would think it would work for you, it will only cost you 14.99 to try.
