Easy to use glucose meter
I recently purchased this glucose meter out of curiosity and for general wellness monitoring—I’m not diabetic, but I wanted something reliable and easy to use. This device exceeded my expectations. The setup was incredibly straightforward right out of the box. There’s no need to calibrate it, which makes it ideal for someone who doesn’t want to deal with extra steps or complicated instructions. Just insert a test strip, apply a small drop of blood, and you’re good to go.The design is intuitive, with a clear screen and simple buttons. It comes with a nice, compact pouch that holds everything neatly, making it very convenient for travel or everyday use. While I personally don’t have diabetes, I can confidently say that this glucose meter would be a great choice for someone who does. It’s user-friendly, low-maintenance, and reliable—everything you’d want in a device you might be using daily.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a no-fuss, dependable glucose monitor

Very Nice (with an update at the end)
After reading some of the bad reviews, was unsure about this purchase. However, in researching this meter, it did score high so I decided to give it a try. Before this purchase, I was using an old CVS model. It was right-on when comparing meter results against lab results. But because it was an older model, thought I should upgrade. I did get everything I was supposed to in the package. Some people mentioned they didn’t get this or that. Not sure why. Right away, I was able to figure out the meter almost without referring to the instructions. User friendly. I like the size of the meter—not too small. And the # results are very clear to see. I like the microlet lancets in that they deliver a minimal prick, and the lancet device is easy to use. I checked the blood droplet on the new meter against the old and the results were only a few points off. I did this for three days and got similar results for both meters. I did notice one day that if you didn’t push the stick into the meter all the way, of course, it wouldn’t read. The sticks aren’t firm so you have to be gentle but constant to make sure the stick reaches the end. It would be nice if they had a bit more meat on them. But they work. Thus 4 stars. I do like that it syncs to your phone. I’m not a technical wizard but I do like all the current technology. The syncing program isn’t particularly fancy but it keeps a record, and will give you an average. When it comes time for my next A1c, it will be interesting to see if the lab average matches the Contour average. The little black bag is useless to me. They are never big enough.UPDATE. Have had the glucose meter now for almost a month. I do like it. Not a problem with the sticks—like I said—gentle but constant. When I first got it, I played around with the app to understand all that it has to offer. It takes a few days to a week to clearly figure it out. Very nice. It records when you stick, the results and the average. Nice colorful images. A1c time will tell… Definitely would recommend. Changed from 4 stars to 5.

Very Fast - Very Accurate
this unit is spot on and takes about a 4th of the time the replaced unit did. I get a readin in 5 seconds (unit times itself) Window is clear and large enlugh to see the readings. The included lanced was an advanced unit with multi-adjustble depths 1-5. Typ;cal lance except that my old unit lances fit on it also. Nobody is going to say they enjoy having to use a Meter, but if we must - we appreciate late designs. This one is he besst one I've had in my 25 years.

Do NOT buy!
An absolutely disgusting device that does not justify a single penny spent on it. The main problem is the test strips. They constantly refuse to read blood! Even if you strictly follow the instructions, there is a high probability that the analysis will fail, and you will have to use a new strip. As a result, you are simply wasting strips and, what is even worse, your time. The costs of these strips are rapidly increasing, which makes using a glucometer not only inconvenient, but also financially burdensome. The needles are a separate horror. They are of incredibly mediocre quality. Compared to needles from other companies, there is a clear feeling that the manufacturer saved on basic comfort for users.Another critical drawback is the complete unreliability of the results. If you do the test with a difference of three minutes, the results will be completely different. The device simply cannot provide stability and accuracy, which is extremely dangerous, especially for people who need to carefully monitor their sugar levels. In general, this is an extremely low-quality and unreliable glucometer. Buying this device is a waste of money and constant stress. I sincerely recommend avoiding Contour Next GEN and choosing something more proven and high-quality. Do not risk your health with such a device.

Local pharmacies didn't carry test strips?
Had to get a new blood testing meter after an insurance change and cheap @$$ new providers won't cover a CGM...my old "manual ones" had gotten corrupted due to old batteries (whoops). Tried to buy something at the local pharmacies but no one could figure out how to get the test strips (???). Came as advertised and works quite well.

As Described
Other reviews said it was missing the test strips, but mine came with everything. Batteries were also included.

I'd purchase this again.
A good product, easy to use. The lancet allows for depth adjustment so you don't have to poke your finger more deeply than necessary to get a blood sample. Can use a pretty small blood sample. Works better if you wash your hands with warm water before use, so you don't have to poke your finger as deeply to get a usable blood sample. Easy read and the iPhone app works well. Comes in a zippered pouch so it is easy to keep together and transport if needed. Be aware that like printers being cheap so the company makes their money in selling ink, this is inexpensive, but the test strips cost more than the actual machine. That is the only reason it is a 4 star and not a 5.
