Q: Has anyone bought these? I have and keep getting the same reading. Every time hottub is dipped. I previously bought Clearwater strips, they were ok.

Yes we've had the same experience. They don't give a reading for chlorine. If someone hadn't kindly given me another brand I would have had dangerous levels of chlorine in my pool. Don't trust them

Q: After adding the normal amount of chlorine to new water, these indicate zero chlorine (impossible)- are they defective?

My understanding is that with new water you should add double the usual amount of Chlorine to boost/start off the process. You then need to wait 4 hours before testing. This is what we do and have not had any issues. Are the other test struls giving any readings ?

Unfortunately not, only Chlorine, PH and Alkalinity
