Q: It says made, checked and packed in the usa but where are are they sourced from? usa cows?

Hello fellow shopper. I remember these "beef tendons" The packaging said all the things you want to hear but it leaves out plenty. The company is flying a bit to much red, white and blue which told me they were hiding some thing. Hotspot pets. (bad choice of co. name if your a dog owner). What I found out was the beef was USA and sent to Vietnam to be manufactured. It is inspected by British guide lines. Some say they are more strict than US standards. I landed here. If it's not some thing that I can eat. (look for USA sourced and manufactured human grade) then I won't give it to my pet. I throw these out after my dog chewed it for 5 minutes. The quality was horrible. It was like a nylon rope after it got wet from chewing. I would keep shopping, good luck.

Q: Are these similar to the freshie tenderloin stickd

I don't know, but they are thicker than the Turkey tendons I've bought from various sources. They don't smell terrible while he's chewing and it keeps my 9 year old boxer busy and happy for 20 minutes or so.

Q: Is there an option for plastic free packaging?

Not that I am aware of and suggest you contact Amazon help number
