It's absolutely worth it! My dog is almost 11yo, about 12kg, she has some heart issues but so far we weren't recommended to take medications on this problem as she has to take hormones daily. However since we moved to the house with staircase she couldn't get up and down the stairs, she breathed heavily after that and during all day. I couldn't take her for a long walk anymore. I decided to try this supplement and the result was almost immediate! She plays, runs and jumps again, full of energy and I don't need to check her breathing every 2 minutes at night. But I keep giving her almost full scoop (instead of half a scoop) twice a day. I'm ready to give to her as long as needed, even for the rest of her life. Only sometimes it's out of stock, so maybe better to have some jars in advance

This was bought for my 11 year old Chihuahua (Muffin) who was diagnosed with a stage 5 heart murmur (which will result in heart failure within the next 12 months according to my vet). I was told there was nothing I could do to help him, but I wanted to try, so did some research and found this.I started Muffin on this within the same few days he started his heart medication (Vetmedin) from the vets, and after about 4 days of being on both, he was running around again, pulling forwards (instead of lagging behind) on his walks again, and just generally seemed happier and more playful.That being said, it is hard to tell whether that's thanks to the prescription medication from the vets or this product.... either way, I won't be experimenting to find out - I'm going to keep using both as it doesn't harm him to get the extra minerals and vitamins from this product regardless.I would also recommend home cooking your dog's meals if he also has the same condition as my boy - you can alternate between meats (avoid lamb and legumes - these contribute to poor heart conditions) ...you can use lean beef mince or turkey, chicken or pork.. and also boil some sweet potatoes, organic carrots and broccoli.. as well as feeding sardines every single day. A squirt of high quality salmon oil on their meal is also a good idea for heart health.Maybe it is all of these changes combined that have helped transform my dog, so I recommend them all :)!I hope this helps someone else :)UPDATE:It's been 3 months that I've had my old boy on this supplement now, and at his 3 month checkup the vet graded his heart murmur between 4-5! Now I know this condition can't ever reverse or get any better, but, she was surprised how well he is doing! Considering they gave him a maximum of 12 months to live about 4 months ago now, I am nicely surprised too; I assumed it would've progressed by now!Will continue to update my review.. I am now hopeful he can live longer than what he was given :) *fingers crossed*UPDATE #2:It has now been 6 months since Muffin's diagnosis, and he is still doing great :). Haven't taken him back for any more checkups, because really don't see a need to jusy yet. He's still on Vetmedin (prescribed by the vet) as well as 1/4 scoop of this product and a squirt of salmon oil each day. I have 3 other dogs and he runs around and plays with them, albeit not for as long as he used to.. But, there's still plenty of life in him yet :)UPDATE #3: This jar of Maxxi Cardio lasted me 9 months! (using 1/4 of a scoop per day). Took Muffin to the vets last week and she now graded his heart murmer a 3 to 4! However, she may have detected the first signs of fluid in his lungs, but wasn't sure, so she also prescribed a diuretic along with the Vetmedin. I showed her the Maxxi packet and said he's been having this the last 9 months.. In typical vet ways, she td me there was 'no scientific studies to back up the minerals in this product, but it can't do him any harm'. Anyway, I ran out of the Maxxi and Muffin hasn't had any for the past 3 days now.. And he has become really, really bad - sleeps constantly, no energy at all, lagging behind on his walks again, etc. Definitely isn't a side effect of new meds as vet said only side effect was increased urination, and he'd been taking them for several days before the Maxxi ran out with no problems. So I've ordered a second jar of this and will update if I see an improvement next week. If I do, I can then say for sure that this product is what is keeping him well and alive more than anything else he's on. Fingers crossed for my boy.Updated review from 4* to 5*.Well my order arrived several days ago, and Muffin is back to himself again! Playful and more alert. This stuff is definitely the reason he's lived so long when he was given a few months to live last year! It makes all the difference. Worth every penny and hopefully I'll need to buy a new packet in a other 9 months from now!

Bought this for our seven year old cavalier, Buster, yesterday, he was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur and was struggling on walks, he has slowed down and showed little interest in his surroundings. At home he would pant and was clearly in distress with his breathing, he was sleeping more and more during the day. He showed no inclination to play with our six month old pup and at times could be bad tempered with him.He was prescribed medication by our vet which he has been taking for about 14 days with some slight improvement. My decision to try this product was based on a review posted by another user of this product for her dog, Her very positive feedback was a major factor in my deciding to give this a go.ordered it yesterday, it arrived mid morning today, he has had two doses of half a teaspoon with each meal today and already there is a massive improvement in him. He is generally brighter and more alert, his walk this evening was a revelation with his running ahead and us having to work to keep up with him, much happier with himself and enthusiastically sniffing and exploring on his walk. When we gothome he was not panting anything like before and his breathing was clearly easier. Cannot believe this after one day, we will continue to closely monitor his progress and will keep this post updated.2nd update November 2023We have continued to give Buster his daily dose of this supplement as well as medication from the vet, the improvement in him continues, yesterday whilst out walking with him in the hills he shot off down a steep slope and then back up again in record time, something he has not done for over a year now!!! He is eager to keep up with our pup out on walks and runs ahead of us most of time. He has even started path finding on his own again.Took him back to the vets today as he has been on this medication for 2 months; is just about to start his third box at £70 a time!!! We took the supplement with us to show the vet. The massive improvement we have seen in Buster ourselves has been verified by the vet, the heart murmur is so slight as to be virtually undetectable, no muffled sounds or leakage. They commented how much better he looked, brighter and more engaged and he has lost some weight; I guess this is because he is now more active again.Vet was happy with the supplement saying that it contains everything that is good for the heart, Taurine and Hawthorne to name but two, such is his progress that the vet is now talking of reducing or even withdrawing the medication after a further review in a month's time.In my opinion this supplement has been a miracle worker for our Buster who is now back to his old self, needless to say we will continue to use Cardio Maxx for the rest of his long and happy life. Thank you Cardio Maxx I would strongly reccomend this supplement to anyone who has a poorly dog with a heart conditionWe are now in March 2024, Buster continues to take this supplement and his prescription meds and remains in good health, still very active on walks and bounding up and down hills with gusto. At his last review with the vet a couple of weeks ago the feedback was again very positive with the vet also suggesting that it may be possible to reduce his prescription meds by half. I am so impressed with Cardio Maxx feeling that it has given Buster the chance to return to full health and to enjoy a happy and active life - long may it last. Needless to say Buster will continue to have his daily doses of Cardio Maxx.This is a repeat order for our dog, I was surprised when I opened the jar expecting the usual pale brown fine powder, I was surprised and an little concerned to find a dark brown lumpy gritty powder, however, continued to use this but an not convinced that this batch is as effective as Buster seems to have taken something of a backward step. The texture and colour of this jar is very similar in appearance to the final few doses of the other jars over the months and I have always assumed that this was due to the product coming to the end of it's useful life. Would appreciate comments if only to reassure me that the change in appearance of this jar does not mean that it is past it's sell by date
