Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomato Risotto

I have been buying this exact product directly from Bella Sun Luci (shipped in shipments of 3 + shipping = $$S) after finding it at my local grocery store as an apparent one off. It was EXACTLY like the genuine risotto that my Italian side of my family would cook (my step-in laws), standing over the hot cook top and stirring endlessly, occasionally switching cooks if the main had to go discipline a kid or throw together some other part of the meal (for me it was switching arms, because 30 mins can really build your muscles). It was also as flavorful, as rich, as the risotto we had eaten in Florence, Italy at that little local corner restaurant ( in the neighborhood, not the tourist area) where they asked you "Red or White" and "Still or Fizzy" and then threw a few glasses and a giant jug of whatever you asked for on the table, along with the bread with no salt (good lord, get over the argument with Milan already))I had originally ordered this and after getting a bad batch, they replaced it completely and the newer container is perfect again. I take back all the bad things I was thinking about them.

This is a fantastic product, but the freight costs as much as the product. I ordered two, which at least made it seem worthwhile. Once gone, I'm not I'll re-order.

I do not know from where Bella Sun Luci gets the sun-dried tomatoes, but its flavor is addictive! It's cooked slow with chicken broth and worth every second of standing at a stove. I've not tried preparing this with water or any other broth, and I keep thinking that the next time I make it, I'll add things like chopped fresh onion, mushrooms and/or maybe a finely chopped veggie--but I have not! I'm way too content to eat/serve this rice as designed by its maker. Ingredients: arborio rice, sun-dried tomatoes, dried onlion, dried garlic,dried oregano, dried basil, dried parsley.

Saute up some shallots and pancetta and use beef broth as your liquid and you have one extremely tasty meal right here! No additional spices necessary. Our local store that we used to buy this from went out of business so I was happy to find it here on Amazon. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it.

This risotto is SO good! It has to be slowly cooked and stirred the old fashioned way (it's not instant) but well worth the effort. So happy to find it on Amazon since Costco discontinued it, I purchased 3!

I like to add Butternut Squash to this Risotto. It's delicious! The expiration date is a concern though. It expired in June of 2019, I ordered it in July of 2019

I absolutely love this risotto. It is a little hard to find. Glad I found it in the bigger container.
