Think Safe 1095TS 7" Trauma Shear

Bought this just to test out the description that it gave for this product.

Bought to have as a spare, to have in our guinea pig medical kit, in case our med kit w/ the good trauma shear wasn't nearby. Pretty close to identical to the other shear we have. Gave it a test run on some fabric scraps and it cut through it with ease. Ours has a little bit of an interference fit right at the closed position, not sure if that's designed like that to keep it shut. All in all, it's a pretty good shear for a fraction of the price of the other ones. Now, if I had to use this regularly, I'd maybe spend a little more and get a higher quality one, but for a medical kit that hopefully won't get used, it'll do just fine.

I bought this as an addition to a personal first aid kit. I liked the cost effectiveness of the shears and the reviews that have demonstrated what it's capable of but unfortunately find the quality lacking in a couple areas. My set had an injection mold flange (or something similar) on the outside of the shear which was sharp but easily removed with a razor blade. This wasn't a huge deal but the shears themselves have enough wobble between the blades to bother me. They're perfectly functional I'm certain but it just bothers me that they aren't held to tighter tolerances. For these two reasons I knocked a star off but by no means does that mean these are bad shears - they're functional and at a great price and I'm certain mine are up to the task if previous reviewers have cut through pennies with them.

These worked great. They cut through clothes, and bandages the entire week I needed them. They also cut through a metal ribbon rack when a kid at my leadership camp broke his (We had to turn a 5 ribbon rack into a 2 ribbon rack). I took off one star because I couldn't get them to cut through a penny like the description promised. I go about two small cuts into the penny and couldn't go any further, and frankly I was worried about breaking these shears trying to cut a penny.

I work in the ER and carry these with me every shift. They are identical to the industry standard ADC brand and you can save yourself a couple bucks! I like fact that I won't feel as bad about tossing these in the trash when they get nastified with tape residue and or blood.

mine came with the semi circular piece at the end of the blade not bent... meaning that the part that keeps you from accidentally puncturing or cutting the patient, that part is not 90 degrees from the plane of the blades (as it normally would be!) Seems like a quality control issue.

These scissors are just okay.they are pretty typical of what you find at a drug store. Not the sharpest scissors for sure. We have used for wound care and there are a bit frusteating. They ultimately get the job done but was hoping for more.Handles are plastic and the blades a regular metal not titanium fused. Longevity willbe a major concern. Package arrilved on time. Scissors are somewhat comfortable but not too much so. Good thing the price was cheap enough to buy as a back up pair.
