Nice product
Extremely good, but the inserts are meh. I'd purchase better inserts unless you are only processing brass or copper

Great set of indexable lathe tools for mini lathe
So I wanted to wait a short while to review these to see how they held up.Extremely well actually. I have a HF 7X12 mini lathe That I use to machine smaller diameter items. Like my wedding ring and my wife's wedding ring... (Used meteorite but that story is for a different time) knobs, and parts for my telescope. These tools did everything I had hoped they would do, and they have stayed relatively sharp as well. This would have gotten 5 stars however...The only con Was that the parting tool was just too long for me to use on anything longer than 1/2 inch round bar. Thanks and hope this helps

Bought these to use on a 7x10 mini lathe and was not disappointed. I've used them on 6061 aluminum and stainless with zero problems and when cutting aluminum was able to make some pretty deep passes with no issue.Tip for using the parting tool on a mini lathe:Since space is an issue and the parting tool will protrude too far to be entirely useful as the other reviewer mentioned, try using about a 5/16" shim and flipping the parting tool. You'll have to run the lathe in reverse but you'll be able to bring the tool farther into the tool post. I now have enough room to part 1" round bar and have much less chatter. There are videos of this process on the Tube.I'd recommend these to anyone interested

They don't leave a good finish on the part I was cutting no matter how big or small of a cut I took

Size Match to the Sherline Micro Lathes
I bought these for a Sherline CNC lathe I'm building, because the 1/4" height matches their standard tool holders. I've used the thread cutter and two of the right hand cutting tools. They seem to be very good quality carbide inserts and cut easily. I haven't used all of them and there are some it might take me a long time to get to.No complaints at all.As a suggestion for change, the tool set could use an internal threading tool instead of, perhaps, one of the small included angle tools.

Not 1/4x1/4
Look like good tools, but the shank's are not 1/4" square. They are rectangle and don't fit my 1/4" tool holders.

junk
Absolute trash. The cutters are dull and chatter like crazy. It's just cheap chinese junk. The $20 Harbor Freight cutters outperform these.*Update* I'm just updating this to confirm that yes, indeed, these are complete trash. The bits crumble and break with the slightest hint of use. It's as if they are made out of dried clay. These really are terrible quality, in fact, they're just plain terrible. By far the worst bits I've ever used. I seriously doubt that they're carbide. You could literally sweep some trash up off the floor, melt it down and make better carbide bits than what this junk comes with.fricking waste of money

Attention to Detail A+
Well built great design/s on the actual tooling. Great case. Cool looking black finish. Allen wrenches included to change the bits. Cool sticker. Just a great product that when you use it or just look at it it makes you happy. That’s my two cents. Thanks.

good value, great packaging and storage, not the sharpest tips but good for softer materials.
Background: I'm a hobby machinist with a 12" South Bend lathe (c.1984). It gets regular use for small neighbourhood and household improvement projects.I appreciated the packaging this came in - it's one of the nicest kit sets I've seen and also easy to transport to a friend's shop when the need arises. My only minor gripe: the tips themselves aren't the sharpest I've used. Hard, yes, and with milder materials (we work a lot of pot metal and aluminum) they're GREAT. Turning harder material is a bit of a bear. As such, I'll likely reserve this set for aluminum work as well as light brass and copper.Regardless, I still consider this a good value set and one I can recommend with the above caveats.

An expensive parting tool.
I specifically bought this kit because it came with a seemingly well designed (small scale) parting tool. The kit is nice ( little pricey w/ extra the inserts and an razor edged pocket scale), but I believe you get what you pay for. However, the parting insert holder I received might as well be made of cheese. It's easy to break a parting tool if pushing it hard (incorrect setup, speeds, feeds, lack of lubrication etc) but this thing might as well have broken taking it out of case. The insert should fail before the holder.
