Much better than expected.
The locking mechanism for the extension handle is a spring-loaded ball lock -very easy to operate and very secure at each of four positions. The wrench is very heavy duty (the label calls it "industrial quality" and the handle is quite comfortable under load. For under $35 this is a bargain. Glad I ordered it.Update: I performed a front suspension overhaul on my 20-year-old Ford Explorer. This wrench was the life of the party. In places where it was difficult to fit an impact wrench I used this wrench to break loose rusted nuts, then collapsed it to more quickly wind them off the bolt. It's 24" length made the toughest nut break free. I love this tool!

Super great tool. A must have.
Super great for brake bolts and rear alignments bolts. Simple one of the best tools I've ever bought. I've been using it all day & everyday at work for almost two years now without any problems. Everything about it including the 72 tooth gears feels like the same quality as a ratchet off of any if the best tool trucks. I've put a tremendous amount of pressure on many nuts/bolts and the gears in the head hasn't slipped or broke yet but just like any high end ratchet you need to be smart and know when to resort to a breaker bar although I haven't had the notion to resort to one yet. The coupling that you use to expand and then release to lock it in place is very solid and not flimsy. The handle grip that you put your hand on is made of very high quality material although it has turned about 90 degrees over a coarse of my many uses. When I noticed that the grip had turned, I thought to myself that I would twist it back around one day when I wasn't too busy but to my surprise I wound up liking the new position of the grip because it's more natural this way to me. I will immediately purchase another one just like this if the time comes.

Great ratchet for all around uses.
The price-performance for the ratchet is high. Initially looked around for a USA made similar product but cannot be found at this price point; I was even willing to pay a bit extra for an American made product. This item seems well made - nicely chromed, well balanced, sturdy and felt good in my hand. The extension of the handle is a great idea - long overdue - in my opinion; and it actually has 2 extension lengths to my surprise. This extension capability works well for me when I have to get to nuts in a hard to reach position or needed for greater leverage.I would prefer to have the entire ratchet made of metal, including the handle for durability. But the rubber handle probably will do since this is not my main ratchet, and it does have a nice hanging-hole by the handle which is a nice feature. This Ampro product is nicely made and will look for this company's products for my future needs if this one proves to be reliable over a longer period.

Exactly what I was looking for
I originally was looking for a 1/2" breaker bar. I came across this item and started reading the reviews. I had come across Ampro tools in the past but had never owned any. I pulled the trigger and took a chance. I don't think I will have any regrets. This wrench is really nice. I really like the trigger switch for forward/reverse. It has the push-button socket lock on the rear of the head. The extension lock is a spring-loaded collar similar to an air compressor quick disconnect. The collaspsed length is short enough to fit inside most of my portable tool boxes. Fully extended, it gives me incredible torque for breaking loose frozen bolts and lug nuts. It also works well for those hard to reach fasteners that need to be really tightened down but can only be reached with your arm fully extended and you can't get good leverage.Soft handle is comfortable and feels like it will hold up in the long trem. Also seems grippy, even with greasy hands.I highly recommend this!

Well worth the $35! Strongly recommend this ratchet!
I bought this ratchet to use at work in November of 2017 and a year and a half later it's still holding up great. I put quite a lot of torque on this thing multiple times every day and I've had no problems at all with it. Several times I've had to put most of my body weight on the wrench with it fully extended to break loose stubborn bolts so I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one and strongly recommend it to anyone considering buying one. Even the grip is holding up pretty well for being used all day every day for over a year.

This breaker bar is pretty solid. The head on it is pretty sizeable and I was skeeved by the extendable part, but it's been extremely useful under my jeep cherokee getting in tighter places or when you need that extra length. Very helpful. Heard stories of people breaking them, but that goes with just about every breaker bar under 50$ however I have broken multiple rusty axle nuts off which get torqued to 175ft lbs. Pair that with years of rust dirt and water and you've got yourself a pretty solid breaker bar. Buy it. I'm glad I did it... Update 2/2/18...breaker bar still kicking baking loose leaf spring bolts and lug nuts.

Has 36 teeth, not 72 as stated in the item description.
Overall, the tool seems to be good quality for the money. That said, this is a 36-tooth ratchet, not 72 as stated in the description. "36T" is etched on the tool itself, and the plastic tag also states 36 teeth. For the money, I'm going to keep the tool and not return it, but it's a bit deceiving to be adverted as having 72 teeth when it actually has 1/2 that.

This is by far one of my favorite tools! I don't write reviews often
This is by far one of my favorite tools! I don't write reviews often, but this one is worth doing so. I use this tool on just about every job I do. I abuse it and it just keeps going! I have started using it more or less as a breaker bar even though that can be really stressful on the gears. I have even gotten the gears to slip a couple times, but the wrench keeps working just fine! I am blown away that I haven't broken this thing with how cheap I got it and how much stress I put it through. Fantastic tool!

The 1/2β head is poorly made.
Had this product for about 6 months. Used it in the oil field for working on heavy equipment. Th handle seemed strong enough for what I was working on but the head sheared off. Be nice if there was a rebuild kit for this product.
