Quality Unit.
This thing is great. It’s a little thick but i think that adds to it. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to break in half like some I’ve used. It has a nice rubber protector around it. It also comes with a whole assortment of extra adapters to adapt it to vehicles without the standard OBD2 connector. It seems to have a lot of functionality some of my other tools are missing. Very happy so far. Great deal for the money i spent on it.

Almost perfect
I have been using this tool for a while now. My normal go-to tool is an Autel MSULTRA. This is a full function scanner for sure. It has been able to handle most things I throw at it. It has been able to do cam/crank relearns, Evap system testing and solenoid activations, oil resets, module relearns, etc. I will say that the directions for some of the tests are lacking from time to time. The boot-up time is quick. I can also print full reports with our connected Wi-Fi printer for customers. Couple of issues.... I hate the warning sound the thing makes when you unplug the OBD2 connector. It makes that sound when you leave a phone off the receiver for too long and it is loud!! I have yet to find a way to stop it. The other big issue I had was with the older non-OBD connectors. They include a bunch with the scanner, but I could not get it to work on an old Chevy truck. I had to pull out my old Snap-On Verus, and that worked fine. All-in-all, it is a nice full-function scanner for a decent price. 2 years free updates is a nice surprise as well.

Amazing scanner
Bought this scanner to work on vehicles professionally and I love it. It’s faster than other scanners I have used and battery life is really good. The wireless connectivity is convenient and fast. It’s loaded with features, works on all makes and models. I have personally used it on Honda and Toyota so far. Highly recommend this scanner for the price.

Solid scanner
This scanner’s been a solid buy so far. It’s built well—not flimsy. Has a rubber cover that helps protect it. It comes with a bunch of adapters for older cars and covers both OBD1 and OBD2. Setup was easy, and the wireless connection makes it convenient to move around while working. It reads codes fast, does bi-directional tests, and handles things like resets and battery checks without a problem. The menu is pretty straightforward, even for someone who isn’t a pro. I’ve used it on a few different makes—Toyota, Honda, Ford—and no issues. Only downside is it doesn’t have a fancy module map like some higher-end scanners, but for the price, it really does a lot. Great value overall.

Another quality Launch product. Works well but missing "Topology" type mapping
This is my second Launch X431 product I have owned. My first served me well for several years and has been passed to my nephew. This unit has a good feel and heft to it, connects to the OBD port wirelessly so you have flexibility to move around the vehicle while still getting data.It comes in a very nice case and also includes most of the vehicle specific adapters like Benz/BMW/Toyota/Etc. The menus are intuitive for me, it reads VINs correctly and seems well featured for live data as well as bi-directional commands for testing and resetting common services. Way more than just a "code reader" this is a "Scan Tool" that rivals the professional units but for thousands less.I have not put it through a ton of paces but I have read codes, reset MIL, did an ABS module coding, ABS bleed, and a Vanos adaptation/relearn on a Mini. The only thing I find missing is Topology. A buddy has a Topdon unit that shows a flow chart like map of the various modules in the vehicle and how they are interconnected. I would say I don't need it often but Topology sure did help with a weird electrical problem on a Chrysler. The last item to mention is the two years of updates included. The unit should last longer than that as the X431 Mini I had is 5yrs old. I recently bought a year of updates for it, before gifting it to my nephew BUT Launch does continue to support their equipment vs. expecting you to just buy a new one every 2years.

Awesome fully featured scanner
Includes OBD 1 and OBD 2 connectors, full Bi-directional communication ability which is a must when trying to diagnose any real issue with an automobile. Easy to use, great value vs snap-on and does enough to pay for itself in a short period of time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to any serious backyard mechanic to a full time tech.
