This embossing mat was perfect for a cake I was baking and looks much more realistic than some of the cheaper garishly-coloured silicone moulds. I have found the cheaper moulds are too soft and lose definition but this one is definitely made from better quality stuff. It's a little pricey for a one-off but as cakes are my business I will definitely be using this again. If you're going for the full tree-trunk, I recommend the Large Log Slice Veiner, also by Katy Sue. A word of caution - if using a softer fondant, as I was, ensure you dust the mould first with icing sugar.

Super quality as always from Katy Sue. I use this for polymer clay projects BUT the mould is very shallow - it is such a difficult mould to use - excellent results on the clay- but each leaf takes soooooooo long to do ... I am not the most patient person ! In fact I have made my own mould from the leaves I have made successfully - and have made it a bit deeper - this makes my life so so much easier.However, I cannot fault the original product - as I said great quality.

Good product but limited as only spells baby would’ve preferred it plain so could add letters to spell name. More for sides of a cake than making alphabet blocks but easy to use and comes out great. Use strengthened paste.

Perfect moulds for my polymer clay work. The assorted sizes bring realism to the projects while the veins are deep enough to allow for painting using thicker acrylic paint. I use a leaf veiner from the same series of moulds (available seperately) to add detail to the back of the leaves. Although a very light brush with cornflour can assist releasing the leaves, I haven't needed to make use of it yet. Happy to recommend these moulds for beautifully detailed work.

I used a peony cutter and then put in the mat to help give better shape and texture to my flower. First time (orange flower on cake) not the best but it looks nice on top of the cake. I’d recommend for sure.

The veining is rich and detailed. The results amazing every time.

Was too small a mold. I have found this with another mold.very deceiving when looking on amazon
