Replacemet Electric SG15H (E22T43426) HVAC Remote Control Compatible for Mitsubishi MSZ-FH Series Air Conditioner

This remote was a replacement for the original one that my wife ran through the wash. It worked just as well as the trashed one used to work. The only difference is that the back light is green, not white. This is not a negative.

The problem with remotes is the propensity of misplacing or losing it. I have a large installation of Mitsubishi mini splits in my home - 40 heads and because of that, we are always losing them. The problem is that getting the original is crazy expensive - around $75. When I first saw this for only $20 I quickly jumped on it. It looks exactly like the original Mitsubishi. The layout and functions are the same. The buttons feel the same. The display too. However, there are a couple of issues - mostly minor that I have noticed. The front cover that slides up and down to reveal the buttons is quite difficult to move. At first, I had to use a screwdriver to pry it open. After a few times, it's a little better but still very tight. Second, it seems that I cannot change the time. I have no problem changing the day but it keeps on staying at 0:00. That's not a problem for me - as I don't use the timer function nor I never look at it. Other than that, it's a great replacement - and a much easier price to swallow than the original.

On first and second glance, you wouldn't know this wasn't the OEM remote. It's almost a dead ringer. The yellow on the button is a little different, there's no Mitsubishi logo, a couple of the buttons have slightly different iconography. The buttons are all in the same place, however, and they all seem to do what they're supposed to. The action on the sliding cover is a little stiffer, but that might just be the luck of the draw. However you cut it, this is a terrific substitute for the OEM version, which I note is selling today at WalMart for more three times the cost of this one. I'm delighted to have this!
