Love the 2 in 1 functions.

You know when you've caught a fly. There's a blue spark and noise like a Christmas cracker. You have to be a bit careful though and avoid hitting any solid objects. This makes it a bit more difficult to hit the fly but very satisfying when you do. We rarely get mosquitos so I can't comment on it's performance with them

How have I not had one of these before!? My living room seems to be an absolute fly magnet, but this makes getting rid of them a breeze... And it's all good fun at the same time! The bat has a few settings, including a "uv" light (I'm dubious it's actually UV and not just a purple light), but the zapping is very good. The batteries last for a long time and don't take long at all to recharge.If you have flies, get this and turn getting rid of them into a game!

This arrives in a brown cardboard box with black printing and measuring approx 43.5cm x 22.5cm x 4cm.Inside the box, you get the racket, the battery to fix onto the bottom, a stand and a USB to USB -C charging cable.The racket can be charged either directly on the body of the racket, or by plugging into the stand (depending which you have plugged the cable into), so if you don't want the stand you don't need it.You do need the stand if you want to use it as a fly catcher when you are not holding it.My teen hates flies and other small flying insects with a passion.He sleeps with a mosquito net around his bed because he cannot stand the idea a fly might land on him in the night and spends his days chasing flies around with whatever it to hand to get them if one dares come in the house.When he saw this racket, he was off to test it the second it was charged.When he saw the product image that shows a child touching it and not being shocked, he immediately started poking at it.He got shocked (twice, apparently the second time was 'to see if was an accident').So, if you place your hand flat on the surface, you won't get shocked.If you have little fingers, or a child who tests things with their tongue, then this is absolutely not suitable for letting them touch because even I can get my fingers through the protective mesh to touch the bits you'll get a shock from.I am reliably informed it gave him a massive fright and left his fingers tingling unpleasantly for a while.As far as getting flies, he seems to think it does the job and I haven't seen one around the house since he added it to his fly swatting toolkit even though all the windows are open.I find it a bit on the big side and you can't use it to swat against the wall or any surface really.So, my son says this is a 4 star, I think it's a 3 because I wouldn't let a small child near it and I find it a bit big.

The media could not be loaded. Well, this thing looks the business.. It's quite big actually, like a large ping pong bat.So... it does kinda work, but, for flies you have to chase them around a bit and a few I chased down it zapped them, they dropped to the floor and then.... they sprung back into action! So you have to then squish them before they resuscitate themselves. Which is a bit gross, and not really the point of this thing I guess..I did then get one which got stuck in the mesh thing, and, as I had it on 'auto' mode basically frazzled the poor thing till it basically set it on fire. Flies certainly aren't drawn to this thing, so.. I'm just not convinced I want to chase flies around and get them to self immolate.I guess... maybe it would work on smaller things (like mosquitos) but there you go.

I really do enjoy this item. I’ve had exterminator style battery powered bug dispatching wands before but the battery powered which is a bit frustrating and you can’t leave them on permanently as a continuous attraction during a period of time for example an evening meal.This evolution of the bug killer is a perfect example of where someone thought about problems and has made adaptions. For example this is now USPC powered and charged and we have an abundance of USPC cables, but also I suspect I could charge this from a power bank although I’ve not technically tried it equally it comes with a stand and a light that would attract insects, during for example a meal which is useful but also it has an outside mesh to protect humans and larger insects from being exterminated. Overall a well thought out change and development for the previous iterations.
