Good Working Order
It was in good working order. No problem reading a CD rom

Good Player
Needed a CD/DVD drive as the new computer didn't have an integrated unit. Tried another make and experienced a few problems with reading disks so purchased this one..This compact unit fitted the bill at a reasonable price. Plug and Play worked perfectly and the drive was immediately recognised by Windows.Software disks and DVD films play with no problems. Nice to have the choice of USB3 and Type C which gives some flexibility in connection.

Lightweight, compact, noisy
Very compact lightweight player. Works well to play ordinary DVDs and CDs but quite noisy in operation. Doesn't play Blu-Rays even though the option comes up on the menu. Works fine with my XPS for the occasional film but I would find another product if I was using it every day as the whirring noise is quite intrusive.

Fantastic little gadget
My hubby just can’t believe how easy this is to use! He absolutely loves it. We are not the most techs of people and hate things that are over complicated, but this is so simple and works brilliantly. He has transferred all of his CDs (absolutely loads of them) in just a couple of days! He has actually bought more to transfer, as we lost a lot of our purchased digital music through an issue with a misfunctioning app and it’s made him want to revert to a physical purchase that he can digitalise. It is the best of both worlds and this gadget has made it so easy. I would recommend this product.

Worked Ok Until DVD Burning Was Needed
From first use this cd / dvd reader / writer worked perfectly reading cds and dvds and even writing a music cd (still working 3 months on) the 3 stars it due to it not being that portable. I found using the standard usb port it would not allow me to burn a dvd on any pc or laptop however once i plugged it in via usb-c the dvd burner was then functional. As such im limited to what devices have a usb-c port, i tried a usb-c to usb adapter but this didnt work so im presuming its to do with power to the device. All my normal usbs are atleast usb 3 so its not that. Read speed is 16x, write speed for dvd is 8x.

Poor opening mechanism
The mechanism to open the dvd draw was flimsy and very inconstant. Didn’t open automatically in dvd player software. I abandoned using it after 3 attempts.
