Q: Motorhome has house and start batteries. Will there be a problem using this item. I only want it for the start battery. Can it stay hooked up?

Motorhomes will have a switch to connect house batteries to main battery, if you only want to charge the main battery then don't link the house battery switch to on position. Even if you did link the switch on the house batteries on the charger will charge all batteries and no issue will occur but may take longer to charge all batteries.

Q: Do we have control over what state of charge is output ? Equalization, more specifically ?

Yes, this car battery charger can control the charging status of the output, there is a gear adjustment in the lower left corner of the product, you can choose the gear "3A/5A", "5A/10A" and "10A/20A".
