A fun set to build. Not LEGO, but a nice product at a great price.
I don't often leave reviews, but after spending the day putting this together, I thought it might be handy, while it's fresh in my mind. I read the other reviews before purchasing it, and saw similar complaints: pieces coming apart, missing pieces, confusing instructions, etc. I usually read the complaints first, but I took a chance, and am glad that I did.The set - the Acropolis - is a very nice design. It's not LEGO, but you're not paying for LEGO, either. I have all of the LEGO architecture sets, plus the Creator sets of real places. I've built them all and rebuilt them all, as I had to take them apart when I moved. I am as close to a professional LEGO builder as you can get, without getting paid for it.This set is broken down into 5 parts. Each part is in a clearly-labeled bag, and each part (step) has multiple bags inside. To the people who complain about opening multiple bags on each level, deal with it! LEGO does this, too. However these are sorted, it's what you get. And with the entire set having 1988 pieces, there is plenty of room to open one step and work on it. There is also a small bag of larger pieces, mostly used for the base. And there is a generous bag of additional/spare parts, which I finally needed to dip into in step four, when I found myself one piece short. Luckily, the piece was there. When the set was done, I had 3 extra parts that I don't think were by design, but I went back through the book to see where my error was. Luckily, this time it wasn't my error. 3 extra parts, and 1 part short, which would never happen with LEGO. Ever. I have probably 50 LEGO sets, and have never been short.BUT - LEGO doesn't have this set, and they are much more expensive. You get what you pay for.My thoughts on the build:1. The instructions were decent, for a non-LEGO set. Some of the steps involved two distinct actions, so that took a little getting used to. But they were drawn nicely, and easy to follow. In fact, the way much of each page is greyed out (to let you know that was from a previous step), it's actually much easier to find where your pieces go, than with the traditional LEGO instructions. It's a change I would like to see LEGO make.2. I found two mistakes in the book. On page 40, there is a piece shown in the illustration that wasn't supposed to be there - yet. It gets added on page 49. It jumps out, because it's white, and there are very few white pieces used at this point. Oops. But I have found mistakes in LEGO books too, to be honest. Also, when building the gold figure in Step 4, I think, I had to reverse the piece that held her arms, because there wasn't enough room for it to fit into the body. This is a mistake in their design, but a simple fix.3. The pieces MOSTLY went together without issue. Two of the support pieces (maybe 6x8, flat) were warped, and this presented a problem, as there was no way to keep them down. Heat? I managed to get them to mostly stay, by adding what was on top of them.4. I didn't have any problems with pieces not fitting, but to the people who complain about pieces popping off when you add another, you really have to push these down and secure them. Some of them are hard to get together. I trust they will stay together, though.5. The design of the set could have used a little help. Several of the pieces used to help support the platform that the Acropolis is on are not well-supported, so you really have to try to massage everything properly. I found this issue in the one Chinese non-LEGO set I bought, too. They could have used a few more pieces inside to make the finished product a little more structurally-sound, but at the end, it felt good, and was easy to move - not too heavy.I would give this an 8/10. Aside from the two warped pieces, which was hard to understand, everything was clever and fun to assemble. For the people who complain, who are used to LEGO, remember that at $70, this set is easily less than half of what you would pay for LEGO, so it's a great deal. Yes, I would definitely recommend it.

So many missing pieces - unable to build
I’m giving 2-starts because the option to build this is awesome. That said, my package was missing so many pieces. No hinges for the roof. Tons of blocks for the internal foundation, and sadly tons of missing pieces for the decorative details including hold pieces. I should’ve known when I opened the box and there were (4) little bags marked “extra parts”. I used all the big extra pieces just to build the foundation, used multiple Lego’s from my granddaughters builds and had to get into bags 4 & 5 just to almost complete with steps through bag 3. At a complete stop unable to build the roof. Ordered a replacement. Hopefully, it will contain all the right parts.

Great set
My 13 year old is obsessed with Greek Mythology and asked for “Greek Legos” for Christmas. This set did not disappoint. She worked on it totally independently for several hours. Looks great. Lots of fun. Nice set. Highly recommend!!!

Better than electronics
My 14 y/o grandson spends several hours a week working on this project. He is a huge fan of ancient Greece and a huge fan of Lego. He would like pieces to fit snugly without having to push down so hard. He limits time working on the project because it bruises his fingers pushing them in.
