I think one has to make up ones own mind about this item.
My dog needs these diffusers as she suffers with stress aggression. I have been using them for the last 9 months on the recommendation of our vet behaviourist. Whether they work or not I can't say because she is also on an anti anxiety drug. Worth a try if your dog is anxious or scared. They is no discernible smell to humans. I can't smell anything but I am assured that dogs can. I will go on buying it because we need it. However it is a bit expensive.

Really Excellent for House Move
This really helped calm down our pup during a recent house move. She’s generally quite an anxious rescue pup but was settled within a week with the help of this.A colleague who used to work at a vets recommended it to me & I would also highly recommend it.

Make sure you buy for correct diffuser
I bought this and it only lasted a few weeks , After reading reviews Ive realised the product has changed and only works with new difuser .I had bought only the month before from the high street so presumed mine is the new style , In the UK all the stores sell the original style still so its a bit confusing when buying a refil online . Ive noticed a change in my dogs anxiety as soon as it ran out though the product really works, He now lays in his bed ,facing the wall and shaking alot agin just like when we first took him on , Ive managed to reorder more of the old style to fit my difuser.

Bought for my grandma to use for her dog! Used these as a lot more reasonable than local pet stores

It calm my dog down before the main event started
Brilliant just fantastic my dog still got upset at new years fireworks but he was not shaking or trying to get in the back of the airing cupboard.It mellowed my dog out and made him calm but when the fireworks went off he was taking I would recommend this just to calm your dog down before any big events such as New Years Eve or fireworks night

Transformation! It works!
So, I put this above our dogs bed and forgot about it, within three weeks we had a calm dog with no separation anxiety. We rescued our dog and who knows what she had been through but she had seriously destructive issues. She would ever break out of a cage in a panic. This has transformed our young, troubled dog and actually stopped us despairing too
