Buy mostly American but with these I don't blow a lot on. This is the first one I've had that actually did 12v option which is awesome it picks up thermostat wire. Saves me from checking for 24v with the multimeter. I guess I still should to make sure it's 24v but knowing there is power in a tiny thermostat wire helps for sure. So this is a keeper. My others ones were very sensitive. Which made it annoying when checking wires in close proximity like in a furnance or at a ac. Some I had would go off at the whole area. This one is less sensitive which is great for pin pointing wires.

I love this electrical tester. The led screen is bright and clear enough, sensitivity can be modify to low or high, sound quality is great and voltage detection is accurate. Also, it comes with a little light to help you work even in some dark spots. Price is great as well.

Works great as described, excellent sensitivity vs. selectivity with the two ranges. Does NOT detect DC, which it is not supposed to... not sure why some reviewers report it sensing DC, maybe they have dirty DC with a lot of noise/ripple?

The instructions say it doesn't work with DC, AC only, but it worked on my low-voltage landscaping lighting wires and helped me find the break in the wire fairly easily. Better than digging up the whole wire. Your results may vary.I tested it on AC wires and it works well and you can tell the hot from the neutral by how easily it detects the voltage. If it's hard to detect, that's the neutral.

Exactly as expected, practical, easy to use, nicely built, and good looking, besides the good price point. Good sensitivity.

Does what it’s supposed to! Made me feel way safer when doing electrical work. The build quality is fine, but it functions perfectly. Would recommend if you’re feeling anxious about doing electrical work!

Works great indoors on standard 120v wiring, but not at all on outdoor low-voltage wires. It did not detect anything with 12v wiring as advertised. Modes are also unclear from description - low sensitivity or low voltage sensitivity? Two different things. Doesn't seem to change operation at all. Battery life not great.
