Good value for the money.
Nice assembly. Should last a long time. The only downside is that the cables are unmarked so I had to label them so not to use the wrong type.

Works perfectly, after too much shopping to assure this is what’s needed
Just what I needed to access the console connection of a network switch (Extreme Networks Summit X460-G2). Commentary: it’s a shame that still today I’m using a text-based serial port console connection to configure high-end devices. And the decision to use an “ethernet” RJ45 connector as a serial port connection? Why, for the price, the higher end devices don’t include a nothing-else-required complete web-based configuration. It’s stupid to need to learn the precise command line language just to set up such equipment. And that kills the possibility of remote support, instead needing to drive to a location to connect to the console port. Or go cheaper brands that include a FULL GUI web configuration - makes little sense!

Works without additional drivers.
I found in device manager that the COM port was recognized shortly after connecting. I was easily able to update the COM port speeds within the terminal software Putty and was connected to the console of this HP network switch within minutes.

BEWARE
This cable is ONLY a pinout adapter. Regular ethernet connectors will NOT work in the case that you have a serial port you want to read from and ethernet on another device (in my case a laptop). As explicitly as possible:[DB-9 ex on a network switch] --> [ethernet ex. on a laptop] DOES NOT WORK [RJ-45 ex on some cisco switches] --> [DB-9 ex. on a very old laptop / server] may work

Simple USB to Console cable that just works!
If you ever need to connect to the console on network devices--you a cable like this (USB to RJ45). I previously used a USB to DB9 and used yet another cable to connect to the device. This not only takes up less room in your bag, but works more consistently.I connected this to my Windows 10 laptop and it was added without drivers or any difficulty. I looked up what COM port it was and fired up Putty and was connected to the switch console in a minute or two. It was super simple. I also didn't have any connection issues or drops. The cable is small and compact, which is great because you always need to keep this in your bag because you never know when you are going to need it.
