Great way to convert an old clock
I used this set to restore three French clocks from the late 1800s, none of which was working properly and would have cost a small fortune to restore and repair. The removal of the old movements is easy and then you just attach the quartz movement through the old face and secure with washers and a brass nut. The job takes 15-30 minutes. The photo shows one of the clocks, now working quite happily after years of neglect, the old movement securely put away in case some future owner wants to put it back. Most of the hands in these sets are too long for these old clocks but frankly, the cost is so laughably negligible that you can buy two or more sets for the price of a single replacement component for the old movement. If the new quartz movements fail replacing them is going to cost almost nothing anyway. I'm all for keeping old things going but in this case it simply isn't worth it - just finding someone to repair an old clock is a job in itself. The choice is basically between half an hour of your time and a couple of quid, or several hundred pounds for expensive repairs and servicing (which has to be repeated every five years). No brainer, as far as I'm concerned.

Value for money 👍
Bought these for making rain faced clocks for my grandkids , work great and had a great selection of different hands to choose .Only thing for me was threaded shaft could have been bit longer .That was just because of my project though .

It’s working but not silent
It’s working so it’s doing the job but it’s not silent or even quiet, for me it’s doing really annoying noise
