Great book and excellent price!

This book arrived fast for where I am located (Korea), and in excellent condition despite it being used. I need this for a class I am taking, and the cost is inexpensive here on Amazon especially compared to the Camus bookstore.

Powerful concepts for anyone leading people and organizations

I cannot think of a single leader, in the HR function or otherwise, who could not benefit from reading this book! Throughout, Dr. Hunt presents ideas that are seemingly simple (e.g., redesigning talent processes from the perspective of the person experiencing them, since workers are in fact people-- who knew!) but that are ultimately revolutionary in changing what it means to work. He includes a great analysis on how the purpose of work has changed, not just for individuals but for society, and discusses the underlying trends shaping what the future of work will look like and how we'll need to adapt. There is no overreliance on jargon, no over-complication, just clear, compelling concepts backed by research and examples. As a work researcher I know I will be coming back to this book again and again!

Outstanding insight into today's employment world

I have heard Steven Hunt talk and had to read his book. Since he is just a great presenter, I knew that his book would be easy to read and understand. I was correct. The book is extremely well organized and written. It is very informative about the different conditions which are impacting employment and how these conditions will impact the future economy. Steve also discussed how the different generations of workers and more alike.Would highly recommend to any CEO, COO, or Human Resources person as the post-COVID world and employment will be vastly different than it was before the pandemic.

Must read for HR and Business Leaders

With so much going on with companies post pandemic, Dr. Hunt's book comes along at the right time. Very easy to read with tons of practical ideas and concepts that can be implemented right away. Dr. Hunt tells it like it is as always and even sprinkles in his own sense of humor which is great. I would highly recommend Talent Tectonics!

Excellent information and insights

I have spent my almost 20-year career in HR, and I think this book has so many great insights. What especially resonated with me is the emphasis Dr. Hunt places on the importance of job design and organizational design and their impact on employee experience. I have experienced many times throughout my career where this has been overlooked (sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally). While you have to have balance between company/business needs and employee needs (/wants), it is crucial to consider both aspects in job design and org design. After reading this book, I wish I had stuck with my original career goal of becoming an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist!

So useful because of specifics, great examples, and his command of context, trends and history

Dr. Hunt's book rises above so many others. Lots of business "trend" books suggest that they can see the future, and that to be prepared you had better do A, B and C ...yet their recommendations are generic. The support for the argument is anecdotal and skewed. Not so with Talent Tectonics: Because of the breadth of Hunt's experience, and the depth of his insights about what works and fails in organizations around the globe, his conclusions seem one step ahead of everyone else's (probably two or three steps). For anyone in management - and especially in leadership - looking for what to know about what's coming and how best (and earliest) to respond, this is money well spent.

Well researched! A future of work narrative that is free of fluff.

If you want to truly understand the landscape of the future of work, this is your resource. Dr. Steve Hunt clearly comes from an academic background and you can see this in his writing. It is well-researched and thorough. This book reads a bit like a review in an academic journal, but the author weaves a great story as well. I would recommend more companies use Dr. Hunt's research in this book to inform how they think about the future of work instead of just relying on whatever trend is grabbing the headlines that week. This book can help leaders gain a firm grasp of the topic and make critical decisions for their workforce.
