EJ in a box, perhaps the best fuzz pedal ever
I absolutely love the tone that Eric Johnson gets and the Wampler Velvet Fuzz is supposed to delivery that tone. I have to say that to my astonishment Wampler are not making empty promises. Apart from being EJ in a box there is also quite a range of great tones available. The Big/Tight switch flips between two input circuits with quite different characters and the Brightness control can add just enough edge without getting harsh. It is not cheap for a fuzz pedal, but you do get a lot for your money, the inside is absolutely packed with far more components than you find in most analogue pedals, and the sounds are top notch.
