An unexpected surprise....
I originally ordered two of these to help find an intermittent stalling problem in my 97 SHO. Well, I decided to go ahead and get two more the next day because if you know this engine, you know the rear bank is a real pain to get to. It's not something you'd want to do without necessity anyway. I got them fast and replaced the rear four coils and plugs while I was in there. The car fired up and ran better than it has in a while. (I also replaced the PCV valve due to breaking it during hose removal because of the cold weather (another thing I'd recommend replacing while your in there). I still noticed a small "fish-bite" after driving for an hour or so. So I decided to go ahead and get four more for the front bank as well. That is what I'd recommend doing if financially able. Just replace all eight. These things, at least in my experience, can cause a lot of intermittent problems. Like shorting to ground for a split second causing a stall, but not setting any error codes due to a loss of communication with the PCM.

Fitment is great in my 96 SHO
Fitment is great in my 96 SHO. First one I have had to replace since owning the car and wanted to get as close to factory as possible. Since not much information is posted about the internal workings of these devices I didn't want to end up with weird problems using an aftermarket part along with all stock parts.Only CON to using Motorcraft parts is the lack of lifetime warranty. I have old cars, and plan to keep them for as long as I can, and a lifetime warranty makes peace of mind. Unfortunately you typically only find that type of warranty with aftermarket parts. I expect if this lasts as long as the originals (>100K) I will do just fine.

Motorcraft quality at a decent price
Perfect fit for my 1998 Ford Taurus SHO with the 3.4L V8 engine which had developed an intermittent miss at idle caused by some faulty coils. Performs as a Ford Motorcraft product should be expected, and much better than some of the generic no-name coil brands that are also available from here on Amazon. The motto "you get what you pay for" applies to these coils: spend the extra money up front for these coils because cheaper coils don't perform anywhere near as well as these do for these finicky SHO V8 engines.
