AMOS 00878hg Desk Table Fan Portable Adjustable Tilting Tilt Electric Air Cooling 2 Speed Home Office Fan, 6"

Bought one of these for work (albeit from a different seller and listing) and was really pleased with it - very effective and nice and quiet.Decided to buy a second one and received a different model - same size actual fan blades, but the safety grill was plastic with 52 straight plastic "ribs" radiating out from the centre, held together by two concentric plastic rings. The whole "cage" was slightly smaller, but the airflow was less, and the base had no little rubber feet (as shown on the picture here). Being disappointed with the second one, I ordered a third from this listing as the photo was the same as the first one I'd received, but lo and behold, I received another one of the plastic-caged ones — very disappointing.The first one I bought (as shown with a metal diamond-pattern grille on the front, and four rubber feet), I can highly recommend.The second and third ones (as received from this listing), are OK, but not as effective. I have found that cutting through every other plastic "rib" on the inner circle and removing it has noticeably increased the airflow from the fan (leaving only 26), but it should not be necessary to butcher something brand new to get it to work effectively. (I would definitely not recommend removing any "ribs" in the outer section as the gaps left would then be wide enough to poke fingers through, thus making the fan dangerous). Additionally, the on/off switch at the rear is recessed which makes it much more fiddly to switch on or off, and I've found I have to hold onto the fan with my other hand to turn it. (on the metal "caged" one, the switch protrudes and can easily be turned one-handed)Both models do the job, but the model identical to the picture is much better. The metal caged one is worth five stars, but the plastic model is only worth three stars due to the fiddly switch and restricted air flow.

I just wanted something small which could sit on her desk and keep her cool during the night when it's hot.It is really small but it does the job perfectly! It is also really quiet when it's running which is definitely a bonus because it doesn't disturb her sleep! It's got a know on the back which controls the speed setting and it's really easy for her to use. She is really happy with it and I've got my fan back!! It's got quite a long cable too which is handy as it can be.moved around to get the most benefit.Also I think the price is fab! Especially when I bought it during a heatwave when most fans were extortionate!

Purchased two of these.PROs:--Sturdy, and surprisingly powerful.--Withstood being dropped on a hardwood floor several times.--When adjusted, holds its position well.--Small and lightweight enough to carry around and be placed virtually anywhere that's near a plug socket.--Won't break the bank.CONs:--Noisy—I don't mind it, but if you prefer your devices close to silent this will definitely be too obtrusive--Switch at the back of one of them came off (oddly, not the one which had been dropped), making it difficult to use. If products are faulty I usually return them for a refund of exchange, however I didn't have time to do either of those things with this product, so I'm stuck with it (the other fan, however, remains intact).--Range of movement only a few inches.VERDICT:Overall, a fab little fan, if you don't mind the noise. Awesome value for money. Would purchase again.

A very effective desk fan at a great price. I didn't find the noise too bad, but some of my work colleagues are sensitive to noise and find the noise distracting. A good fan for your desk at home perhaps, but not for a shared work space.EDIT: I dismantled the fan and found that the source of the noise was a loose screw inside. Have now managed to tighten it and this is now an almost silent fan. However, tightening the screws too much seems to stop the fan working, so was quite a fiddle to get the screws tight enough to not wobble around but not so tight it stopped working!

Superb little fan! I'm a fan of this fan!Bought this as a panic purchase, when a high street fan I'd just bought refused to assemble. I'm certainly glad I did, now that we're in a heatwave....I tried it for the first time last night in the bedroom, placed it on the dresser at the end of the bed, and left it on all night. The great thing is that this circulates the air some but does not oscillate, so when you're trying to sleep in a hotbox you don't get either a huge blast of cold air or that annoying waft of it travelling across you just as you're dropping off. Simply, by the time the air got to me, it felt cool, and, on the hottest night of the year so far, I got almost 8 hours' sleep. Very impressed. Just bought another for my mother.

About what you'd expect for an 8 GBP fan. Works fine and moves air, and is very easy to put together. But is made from quite cheap material (dropped it once and the whole thing broke apart), "adjustable tilting" is bordering on a lie as it probably tilts about 1-3 degrees, and from more than a few feet away you can't really feel the air. But once again, for 8 pounds it's fine, and would make a good cheap, desk fan.

Not very powerful and smaller than expected

Nice little thing, very good for small space. Does the job. I recommend. This is my third one.
