Smart Spa Supply Top Mount Spa Hot Tub Spa Cover Lift System / Simple to install / high grade aluminum construction / 5 year warranty

The directions for this product are not very good but I had my old one (which is similar) to use as a reference so that helped. After getting it all put together I tested it and it seemed to lift ok, but was a little more difficult than my old lifter. The second time I tried it, the screws pulled right out of the arms and I had to catch the cover before it fell to the ground. This resulted in one of the arm bases nearly snapping (see pictures). I took the side panels of my hot tub off, and saw that the hardware provided with this product are just not good at all. The screws are so short they only go into the side panel, which is a thin plastic/vinyl material, and they are not long enough to go into the wood behind to provide some support to heave a heavy cover. I ended up using longer screws, 2" and 3" deck screws to anchor into the wood support behind the panels. However I still have the issue of the one side that looks very stressed and I am scared it will snap the next time I try to open the cover. I have contacted Amazon and the seller. The sellers phone goes straight to a voicemail. They did return my call but I could not answer and they said they would call back or I could email. They never called back and have yet to respond to my email. Amazon however has been great in helping me, as they always are. I am going to continue to modify the arm bases to make them more rigid. I am going to epoxy 2" aluminum bars that I have drilled holes into, onto each side and screw back into the wood/panels. I am hopeful that this will provide enough support for the cover. I will try to update in a few months after using this but I highly recommend people to not use the screws this one provides. Get longer, more sturdy hardware otherwise it will be breaking very shortly after installing.

Received quickly, well made, instructions definitely weren't proof read and /installation couldn't be followed as directed. Steps could not be followed in order as directed. But overall very good unit.

Easy to install! Works awesome!!This makes the cover super easy for me to remove. It also gives us somewhere for it to go, other than the ground. Very happy with it!

The side brackets are made of hard plastic. Within a month of use the left side that mounted onto the hot tub cracked and we are unable to use the lift system. It broke away from the mounted piece. Now I have 10 holes in the side of my new hot tub and I will need to get a different lift system. However, the Smart Spa Supply was quick to refund my money.

I followed all instructions (which had wrong size for nuts) and first time I lifted the cover off my hot tub the plastic brackets bent and my cover fell to the ground. What should I do?
