2012 Toyota Highlander
I installed this on my 2012 Toyota Highlander SE (2nd generation, 2007-2012) with great success. After struggling to find a good place to mount my Tackform phone holder, I figured out how to access the area behind the dash panel (near the ignition) by removing the radio and trim. This is an easy process, with plenty of how-to videos on YouTube. Note that I did not unplug the wiring from the stereo or from the temperature control unit, but I did unplug the bottom tray (USB & 12v outlet) to get it completely out of the way.The included backplate made the job so much easier, and once tightened made for a solid mount. The included screws had thread locker pre-applied, and I was able to cinch them down tightly using a 1/8" Allen hex key. There is barely any movement on the mount, and the base feels rock solid. There is no perceptible flexing of the base or dash. Even with the extension arm adding leverage, the phone easily mounts and dismounts one-handed.The actual size of the base plate is 1-5/8" x 1-7/8". The included backplate shares the same dimensions.Hint: I used thin, double-sided tape on the mount to hold it in place while drilling the holes into the dash. This helped prevent unnecessary movement, and allowed for last minute adjustments. I suggest that as you drill each hole, place a screw through each newly created hole before drilling the next one. This will help keep accuracy as you move along. Also (not visible in the photos), I added a #10 flat washer to the top left screw, between the base and the dash, to make up for the slight curvature in the dash.

Sturdy mount
We use these in the big trucks as they can mount solidly to the dash to handle rough roads and lots of bumps.

Great design, beware if you need a 20 or 25mm "ball"
Well built, multiple mounting options. Beware that there are 2 options, 20 or 25mm.

Fills a need
I actually had to destroy this just to get the ball off. Thats all i needed due to the mounting location. It has screws holding it to the plate but they were not coming out.Sturdy part, perfect size.
