The blade stays sharp after hundreds of cuts on hardwood such as oak and manzinita (unlike a cheeper geared lopper I bought). I bought this one as a replacement (I broke the blade, bit off more than I can chew, don't try to cut beyond the guide, or recomended max. dia). Good machine.

This Florian Ratchet Lopper is the greatest tool yet. It has saved me many time from using my chain saw, which I had too us before I learned about the Florian Ratchet. Great tool for the money.

If you've never tried the ratchet system, you don't know what you're missing! It may sound too good to be true, but this lopper enables me to cut branches that would otherwise be too hard for me to do. The ratchet system really saves strain on the tendons, muscles and joints. Bought my first one about 20 years ago (they last forever!), and I would NEVER go back to the old type of loppers! Let the ratchet do the work for you (read the directions so you understand the process; otherwise, you might be overriding the system that does all the work for you).Would also recommend the mini-loppers; however, if you can only afford one set of loppers, get this one because it will handle the small stuff but also tackle the really thick branches. Absolutely love it!

I was very happy with the ratcheting design and the tool's ability to cut through thick branches. It will earn its keep around our place pruning low limbs and cutting kindling wood.

I got these to replace an older pair that I had lost and I was happy to see that the quality is the same as before (unlike their small hand clipper version which aren't made as well as they once were). These are the best loppers I've ever had and I've had lots. The ratchet makes it possible to trim up to around 2" diameter branch with little effort. I brought a pair to a neighborhood event where we were trimming brush along a road we all share and everyone wanted one.

By far, the best ratchet lopper out there. Seems pricey, but worth every penny in performance.

This Florian Ratchet Lopper was cheaper than through Florian's catalog. It arrived very promptly and was exactly what we ordered. Excellent service. This is an expensive but excellent trimmer and limb cutter. The ratcheting feature takes all the sweat out of trimming.
