Our 11 month old daughter received this Pony Man Barn from Santa Claus. It was an instant hit - left for her on our piano, set up so that all of the horses and Pony Man were out and around the barn. She was literally quivering with excitement when she saw it! So far, she loves playing with it, and so do we!I debated long and hard about ordering this. However, the many 5-star reviews, the fact that the horses and doll were not stuffed with PVC pellets and do NOT make noise were/are pros. One of the the coolest things about it is that the horses all look like horses we currently own and love, or that I grew up loving. Additionally, we sing Gordon Lightfoot’s song “The Pony Man” to our daughter each night, and these ponies fit right in as characters in the song: “some are white and some are brown.” (And there’s a black one too, I know.) Another pro was that some of her other favorite toys can fit into the barn and join the fun, namely her Ikea rattle cats and a sheep.The cons were that the toy is made in China, and we expected a huge and overwhelming influx of Christmas toys from others. We read a review where the zipper was faulty, but ours seems sturdy and is fully functional. If your child is a baby, you’ll want to put the hay bale away (it’s too small for a baby to play with safely). The eyes are plastic buttons, and not thread-sewn, if you are shopping for a little one. We plan to give the hay bale back later if the toy lasts, and monitor her playing with the figures closely to be sure she doesn’t chew off an eye and choke on it. We wished there had been a quiet farmyard with different farm species, but the connection to our own horses and the song won on that front.I want to thank the seller, Kids to Discover. Amazon sent a message that there would be a delay in the delivery a few days before Christmas. I was sad, but thought it would be fine since our daughter has a birthday in January and wouldn’t care about the difference. Still, I was a bit disappointed. HOWEVER, the seller and USPS still got the toy here despite the delay - it was delivered the Sunday before Christmas, and was the most exciting box I received all season!Overall, if you are on the fence, I highly recommend this toy. The ponies are soft and cute, the farmer is cheerful, and it encourages manual dexterity and imagination without using batteries or synthetic noises or voices. Our family loves it!

I snapped up this adorable toy for my grandboy's 2nd birthday, since he is very interested in animals right now. He loves it, and his older sister and younger twin siblings will enjoy playing with it two. Well made, soft and cuddly, and the little cowboy is as cute as his horses. They all fit neatly into the barn--and often hang their heads out the windows when they're not being played with!An amazing value!

It is absolutely adorable and made beautifully. I purchased for a 2 year old girl's birthday. She Loved it, her parents loved, we all loved it? The 4 horses and are individually precious and the little farm hand boy is the perfect addition. It also comes with a little plastic bale of hay. It's just so cute, soft and colorful.

I bought this for my 18 month old grand-daughter. It is wonderful! Slightly larger than I expected, but it has a nice handle on top so she can carry it around, a sturdy zipper to close all the cuties inside and it has no sharp or even stiff edges. The horses are a better quality than expected - they seem like they will hold up to a lot of love. All the horses can stand on their own. The farmer is too wobbly to stand, but he is awfully cute. I am very happy with this and fully endorse it for any 18 mo - 3+ year old horse lover.

Bought for my granddaughter. Perfect toy to improve finger dexterity

We bought this as a present for a 20-month-old. She is younger than the suggested age of 3, so I was hesitant to buy it. I am very happy with the purchase now that I have examined it.The smallest item is the hay bale which I showed in a photo with inches marked. I do not think she could fit the hay bale into her mouth, but I will let the mom know that it is the smallest piece. The hale bale does an attach loosely by a very small piece of Velcro to the inside of the barn. All little pieces, including the Velcro, are sewn together very well. I could not remove any saddles, bridles, or any of the cowboy's clothing (i.e. belt and hat). The only piece that I think you could remove if forced would be the saddle, but it would be very difficult to impossible for a child to remove. I added a picture that shows the saddle attachment the best I could. All other items I could not fit my fingers under to try to pull the items off, so they are secured very well in my opinion.We bought this due to the 20-month-old carrying around her current hard plastic barn set and hitting walls and furniture with it. She loves to take out the plastic toys and put them back in and carry them from room to room. I thought this would be the perfect gift that would help with the problem of banging up the house. In general, I have known several children that love to pick things up and put them inside something and then walk around with it, so I may be giving this to more than one child in the future.My biggest concerns are if the zipper will be a problem for the toddler and if she will be tall enough to carry it. You can see the picture of my generic short hair cat (11 lbs.) next to the barn for a size comparison. The zipper may be difficult for her to use since she is so young. I will try to update this review if any of these concerns become a problem for the toddler.If you are considering purchasing this for a younger child, I believe it would be okay if the child is supervised and the toy is checked periodically for parts to break, which I hope most parents do anyways. After I give her the present I will update if her parents feel differently.

Purchased this item for a 7 month old child. She loved it. And so did her parents and grandparents. The item is soft and flexible enough for baby to grasp.
