Read instructions super easy to do and now I have a fob for my truck finally

My son got a 2002 Ram 1500 that didn’t have a working fob so after reading reviews and seeing a YouTube video we decided to try this. He tried it like 50 times and it didn’t work and he’s 17 so he got really frustrated and said he saw people online saying it didn’t work and some said it did but he followed the video and followed the written instructions and it did not work. He walked away from it and went back later and tried again and he got it to work. He said he had been pressing the wrong button. So don’t give up. Might be user error if it’s not working for you. Saved us $245 per key fob that the local dealer quoted us. We programmed the one that came with the kit and another we bought separately. Both work great now. Pretty sure this only works without having a working fob if your vehicles fob only locks and unlocks the doors. To program a new fob that also starts the vehicle probably needs a working fob to sync it and a more elaborate OBD2 trainer.

Excellent product, as I've come to expect from Dorman. It works as advertised, it was simple and fast to program with the included OBD2 adapter, programmed a second remote as well, and the fob looks and works like a factory original.

Would give no stars if I couldI have an 03 ram 1500 truck. Did as the instructions listed and remote is still not programming. Today is Sunday so I’m not able to get ahold of customer service to see if they can help with programming the remote. My review will change if by some miracle they can help with programming the remote. So for now until my updated review buyer beware

I bought this for my 2003 Ram 1500. I did not have the original key fob only the key. So I bought this and it worked. Followed the instructions and I was done in less than 30 seconds. It took me longer to open the package.

Programmed it to a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 that was purchased used and came with only 1 key and no fobs.Confirmed with dealership that the truck came from factory with keyless entry before ordering this. Followed the instructions on the back of the programmer and not the paper instructions that came with as they give different steps and it worked PERFECTLY!!!!IT LITERALLY TOOK LONGER TO PLACE THE ORDER THAN TO PROGRAM THE FOB, NO MORE THAN 3 MINUTES TOTAL TIME TO PROGRAM. No existing fob needed just a working ignition key to put the truck into programming mode. Plus you can use the programmer to pair additional fobs to your car so hang onto the programmer box!!
