a disappointing purchase was handled in a perfect manner by the manufacturer
I started to screw the pieces together, but they were mis-threaded and the end result was a sort of unstable zigzag look. I called the manufacturer and got someone who was incredibly helpful. She said it was obviously flawed, apologized several times, and offered to send a replacement. I said I wasn't willing to chance another one so the price was refunded immediately. She also said not to return the faulty one since it probably couldn't be repaired. All in all, a disappointing purchase was handled in a perfect manner by the manufacturer.

Good if you're looking for cheap lighting. Don't expect more
I bought this lamp for my covered screen porch. I was looking for basic, inexpensive lighting since I don't sit out there at night enough to want to buy a better quality lamp. It does get the job done so for that I'm fairly happy. It's not a bad looking lamp. However, the lamp is very flimsy and does not stand straight when screwed in. It was a major pain setting it up and it took a long time to screw in. But for the price, I think I got about the value I paid for it.Bottom line: This lamp is okay if you're just looking for something cheap, but save your money if you intend to keep it long term or want something that looks really nice.

A good, cheap alternative to over priced lighting.
As said in other reviews, it's nothing special, but it works. The pole comes in about 8 sections with the power cord already threaded through it. Just screw the sections together. They seem sturdy enough but as usual with cheap crap, one of the threaded sections was buggered up and it cross-threaded a little at first. Had to exert a little force to get it screwed together which is ok because I don't ever plan on unscrewing it again. The shade is cheap plastic but it's not really obvious to the eye. Overall, it's worth the 20 bucks I paid for it. But if I ever move, I'll probably just throw the whole thing in the trash LOL..

Good value
It is worth $20. Assembly is simple. The 1 cm threaded ends on each section provide more stability than I expected from the slender pole.During assembly, have handy a scissors to cut away protective plastic sleeves, and have handy a vacuum to pick up many flecks of styrofoam. The translucent white shade creates too much glare for my liking, even with an up-facing LED bulb. I'll probably create a liner for the shade. In the meantime, the block of styrofoam used to protect the shade during shipping provides a functional, if not elegant, glare shield. Turn it on its side and slip it between the bulb and the shade.

Skinny and Cheap! And NOT in a good way.
I guess it is exactly what it looks like. A super thin, cheap and crappy light. The long skinny shaft is crooked - ("That's what she said!") - and feels like it will snap if I try to bend it straigh. I use it in a spare bedroom but as soon as I get to a store to pick out a nice one, this skinny POS is going to light up my dumpster. BTW...Wife HATED it on sight!

I can’t find anything bad to say, the price wasn’t a factor, but it was an amazing value.
I read the reviews on many lamps before I chose the Bailey Black torchierre floor lamp, and I was glad I did my homework. It met and exceeded my expectations, so I rated it a 5. I like that it is simple, but attractive. It’s functional - fits nicely wherever I tried to place it. I was surprised that it was well-balanced, very straight, lightweight, solid base, very easy to assemble. I love that the globe is not heavy glass, but is still very good looking. My last very expensive lamp was crooked, very heavy and the globe chipped), I got rid of it. I did hook up a dimmer switch to the cord,, and purchased an LED dimmable soft white bulb, I love it. I can read, crochet or dim it to a soft light for watching tv. My daughter, loved it and ordered two for her house.

Inexpensive, but works great.
Not sure what more I could ask for. This thing works as advertised and looks elegant even though it's just a bunch of cheap metal and plastic. I can attest that you won't notice the seams in the metal tubes unless you inspect closely. Also, don't mind the plastic lampshade as it's less likely to break (and you also can't tell this either unless you touch it). Pair this thing up with an inexpensive A19 LED corn bulb (search for it) and you've got a very bright LED Torchiere lamp for about half of what a normal one goes for.Be ready for the styrofoam to go everywhere when unpacking - still worth 5 stars though.

Nice touch
I purchased 4 of these for various rooms in my house about 6 months ago, and I just purchased 2 more. The base is adequately heavy to keep it stable, and the narrow stem adds a nice modern touch. I had a simple issue with one of the lamps that Lamps Plus took care of immediately, I'm really happy with their service and will buy again when I organize additional rooms.
