Got pack batch of 2024 and did not notice any special taste or notes listed in description. Plain taste not really strong no berry and cacao notes found in description some bitterness and some fading in tea taste. I am yunnan tea lover tasted a lot just like to try different sometimes. This tea does not seem premium and not worth price though looks nice

This isn't exactly "cheap" but it's still in the realm of budget tea and it's exceptional quality for the price. It's called Classic 58 because this is the company that pioneered this style of black tea back in 1958 and this product still uses the same processing technique. The leaves are quite large and mostly unbroken. It also has a pretty decent caffeine kick and can give several good steeps if brewed gongfu style. I may splurge on a better dianhong once in a while, but classic 58 remains my go-to everyday Yunnan black tea.

My batch is labeled November 02, 2020 and it's delicious. There is something a little different about the flavor in this one. Something I haven't tasted in other Dianhong tea which is a nice change. It also has the highest caffeine content I've had from a tea. This one will get you going in the morning. The flavor strength is pretty good too. It will hold up for a couple steeps western style and a couple more brewing gong-fu style.If you're looking for a solid Chinese black tea with a caffeine kick and a taste with something a little different at a reasonable price, then this is a winner.Great stuff. Love it.
