Love his personality in the book and it’s so insightful. I’m learning so much about foods that are better to eat and what benefits they have as well as how they affect the body. I doubt I’ll fast, I love food too much but it’s helping with me thinking of how to use food as science

Dick Gregory is so hilarious. He has the ability to make you laugh and think about what you’re putting in your body. I’ve been searching for this book for a long time. Thanks Amazon!

They should put this book back into print. Based on what I've read from other raw "gurus" and such, I'm wondering whether a lot of their principles may have actually come from this book, as it was one of the first books published on the raw diet. I have been fully raw for five months and actually went raw cold-turkey, but I still found this book extremely beneficial. It is not only an entertaining read, but very insightful. Not only does it have dietary suggestions, but it also has provides some great background behind the transitioning process.I previously only knew of Dick Gregory as a comedian, but this book schooled me on much more than humor- it enabled me to see the thought, research, and introspect he devoted to his journey. Surely, this could be very inspirational for others. I finally purchased it a high price because I got tired of hopping from second-hand bookstore to second-hand bookstore in hopes of a lucky break, but I am glad I made the investment. I may just laminate it!

Purchased this book over 30 years ago when it was first published. As a matter of fact this is my 7th copy. Anyone interested in improving their knowledge and general health needs to purchase this book as a reference guide. Every time I loaned this book it has yet to be returned; will never loan it again.
