Great general coverage of components with good outlines, history, and extra information on the various topics!

If you are a beginner, a hobbyist, or just someone who is interested in learning about different electronic components, you will absolutely enjoy this series. In these very inexpensive volumes, you will find that they provide the most essential, and up to date information, as to what a particular component is, how it is used, and what to expect from it. Most importantly, these books are extremely easy to use and to understand. Are you tired of having to go to a computer or potable device each time you want to look up a component? I find it much easier to just thumb through the index for what I'm looking for, than to have to perform a search online for each component every time. I am confident that you will be amazed as to just how much useful information that there actually is for each component in these "encylopedias." This particular volume is number 3, and hopefully it is just another addition to many more to come. You don't need feel as though you have to buy all three of the volumes at once, or ever, but I'm a firm believer, that if you need something from one volume, I guarantee that you'll definitely need something from any of the others as well. I purchased volumes 1 & 2 at the same time, I just wish that volume 3 would had been available at the same time too; but I can appreciate that there is always new information being added. I highly recommend this series of encylopedias to anyone who is interested in the world of electronics technology!

I'm a basic techie at heart and love this series of reference books so much that I have ordered books 1-3 to complete my set. Each book is well written and contains the information I find helpful in my person "Techie" pursuits. Thanks to both Amazon and the Authors! Great Job!!

Was just what I was looking for.

I have always had an interest in electronics and electrical engineering. This book and others that I have found will help solve my curiosity and build my knowledge.

These books cover a ton of information. None of it is lengthy but complete enough to provide a great understanding.

I purchased all of Charles Platt's Make: books in the series and they are all just packed with knowledge and beautifully laid out. I highly recommend these books for anyone looking to get into the world of electronics.
