Bought this as a quick replacement for a broken Sony DVD Player. Easy set up, plugged into mains and fitted the HDMI lead from the TV to old player into this one. Been fine so far . This player remote is easier to figure out than the Sony, the buttons are more positive. I feel I took a gamble on this unbranded item regarding quality, but it paid off. Have only tried on Region 2 DVD's so far.

Bought this to replace a NIKKAI which had given at least 10 years loyal service. That previous ,even though very small and compact could play everything you chucked at it and you could connect anything to it . This machine comes pretty close , in that so far it has been able to play everything and has connectivity options to connect it to sound bar or multimedia speakers . I have it connected to my Roku Via HDMI which gives a VERY good picture transfer but to be frank does not give very good sound transfer through the TV , or at MY TV , but if you check out the internet , so many people report poor sound volume VIA HDMI, regardless of TV or DVD player regardless of settings. So for the actual sound I have mine connected to 22 Watt multimedia speakers via the RCA 3.5mm stereo connector sockets and works / sounds great . I judged it is a 5 star item based on its versatility and value, but If any users find they can only get low volume sound through their telly I suggest buying a modest sound bar, I already had the Edifier multimedia speakers so did not need to make any extra purchases, the 22 watts stereo output ( of my speakers) may not sound much but its plenty . VERY happy with this purchase so far .

Works well,altho i had to buy a compact scart connector that you plug the coloured leads into,fits well into the tv..the player is good value.

This item, turns out to be another China device. When I got it, I was hoping that it was going to be a lot better than the last one that totally failed. Well, after putting it together, and plugging it in, I found it was already on, without me doing a thing to it. I went ahead anyway, and picked one of my favourite movies and played it. The presentation was really good, and I liked what I saw. After the movie ended, I went to shut it down, like I always do with my eletronic devices, only to find out that it would not turn off. Very disturbing. Which means that I am useing electricity without the benefit of the device doing what it is suppose to do. Now expensive. Also, I found out that the remote control did not have batteries in it, not like the others that I have purchased. Also very disturbing. So, until I can get some battieries to see if this thing will work properly, I can only just barely give it a pass. Be wary of China eletronics!

Awful dvd player. The remote control is flimsy and buttons need to be pressed multiple times before anything happens. The player itself lags every few minutes throughout the dvd. And very annoyingly, the viewing area of a movie is only a small square, I've tried all options and cannot get a full screen even though the same dvds showed full screen on my last player. Returning.
