Unique Gemstone Blocks - 12 Pieces

I purchased this set for my 4 yr old grandson and we worked on digging out the gemstones and rocks together. He would attempt to identify each stone and we would discuss which of the stones had similarities to the one we uncovered, then read the information card for what we decided through careful deliberation was the correct stone. Hours of enjoyment and a great project to do together. I would have loved it if the stones were slightly bigger making them easier to identify and also to keep track of. Including a small drawstring bag to keep them in would also have been great. He was happy with the collection, enjoyed organizing the stones with the large chart included in the set and we talked about our favorites and the qualities of each stone numerous times. Later he used them as a load to be moved about using a small toy loader and dump truck.

Compramos estos bloques para un proyecto del colegio de mi hija que trataba sobre arqueología y excavaciones. Al finalizar el proyecto los niños de la clase tenían que excavar en su bloque buscando la piedra preciosa...Fue todo un éxito. No son gran cosa, pero son perfectos para usar como detalles para juegos, búsquedas del tesoro, juego de cumpleaños o como en nuestro caso, para ser usados como final de un proyecto en clase.El mineral que entra está pulido, es una piedra no muy grande, pero suficiente y unos son más llamativos que otros. Vienen bien explicados, con tartejas informativas de cada mineral. Los bloques no son muy duros, por lo que se extrae bien el contenido, pero si los peques no pueden rasparlos bien, basta con mojarlos un poquito para que se ablanden.Lo volvería a comprar.

Brought for my daughter, she absolutely loved it! She roped in her younger brother to be her assistant.Occasionally an extra gemstone may be found in a block, which is a good bonus!
