very sturdy brackets
Well made and feel sturdy in hand. I ended up having to return as they were not suitable for my intended purpose, slight overkill for my project lol.

Sturdy and well made but not really what I wanted
Should have taken notice of other reviews. Although these seem to be well made and sturdy they do not stay open at 180 degrees but spring back to 90 degrees. Wanted them to stay open at 180 so no use for my current project but will keep them in my Aladdin's cave as they may be useful for something else at a later date!

Photo shows maximum opening angle
They don't open up to 180° - they only go as far as you see in the photo. They are therefore sitting in my toolkit waiting for the unlikely day I find a use for them. A lift-up side flap to a log store perhaps.

90 degree travel only
This purchase was a mistake for me, because I thought it rotated through 180°. It only rotates through 90° - its resting position is with both arms at right angles, and it goes to 180° apart on a spring. I didn't send it back as it wasn't expensive and might come in useful for something. That said, it is very sturdy and the 2 arms are aligned in both dimensions (not offset). It might be an idea for the manufacturers to illustrate this with 2 simple photos and an arrow between them.
