Installed on 2018 suburban 5.3 v8. Super easy install. Everything is good quality. Sounds really good and can tell I have better throttle response.

Better performance drive
The unit wasn't difficult to install and the instructions were very helpful. Keep in mind that there are 2 fitment tubes for different engine sizes, so select the correct tube for the engine fit that you have.I have seen a gas mileage increase and the growl from the increased air flow sounds good. There is some power increase and the shifting points are smoother. It is a great value for money considering the performance increase.

Nice job, K&N
This is the third intake I've tried on my 2015 Silverado 5.3L. The first one was an SLP Blackwing that was so loud, I eventually took it off. It sounded good, but just way too much for me. Next I tried the Airaid MIT which is just the tube. Nice improvement in low-end feel, and noticeable small boost in high RPM power, but little to no sound over stock.Lastly, this K&N unit which seems to be the best of the three... The tube has a chrome-ish finish and looks nice. I noticed an immediate improvement in low-end throttle response, same as with the Airaid. The tires now want to break loose when accelerating out of a corner, which was not happening with the stock box. The sound is good, pretty much non-existent during cruising, but moderate to heavy throttle produces a satisfying growl that is nowhere near as obnoxious as the SLP unit. Sounds like a truck now, and nicely complements my OEM Borla muffler system. Overall very pleased with this, I'm planning to stick with this one. Truck runs fine, no check engine lights or anything. I am not exactly sure why the SLP was so loud, but the differences are that it had a plastic tube (which is an option on the K&N as well), and also the surround for the filter element was basically a plastic tub, instead of only two-sided metal like the K&N. I must assume that the plastic pieces just produced more resonance and volume...

Sounds Greeeeat
Just installed on a 2016 escalade. Sounds awesome, seems to breathe better. Will check back for gas mileage.

Great intake, PVC fittings suck
Overall this intake is great, it was a very simple straight forward install and fit my 2018 5.3 z71 perfectly. It is definitely a noticeable difference, you can hear the air being sucked in through the cone filter and it wakes your engine up. The one thing that I didn't like about this product is the hose fittings for the PVC hoses to the intake tube. The fittings are plastic and cross thread easily and can break or loosen, along with the threads in the tube are nuts welded on to a hole that is size for size so while one side the fitting went in fine the other stopped thread engagement because the hole in the tube was slightly off form the hole in the nut. I had to take a drill that was just under the thread size and drill thru a little bit so my fitting would screw in. After that my fitting screwed in but was loose from cross threading in prior attempts. I ended up buying new stainless fittings to replace the plastic ones it came with. Also it did not come with hose clamps for the PVC lines. I'm a mechanical guy so I was able to figure all of this out and make it work but someone who doesn't know how to wrench would have been in for a headache.

Install in 30 mins. Plug and play, ready to use product, with easy installation Instruction.
This product is easy to install and provides great look with added power. Noticeable difference in power, and throttle response. Functionally this is exactly what I wanted for my 2018 Silverado 5.3.

2019 5.3L Chevy Tahoe K&H Next Gen Cold Air Intake Install - Not Good
I installed the NextGen model on my 2019 5.3L Tahoe Texas Edition SUV. Very disappointed with form and fit for this unit. It was very difficult to get the air box into position and required removal of a corner brace to do so. The remainder of the install was going as planned until it was time to connect the cold air pipe between the throttle body and the air box. It simply did not fit. It was about 1.5 inches too long. In order to make it work required trimming a little more than an inch of the pipe on the air box end. Luckily, it is made of plastic and there was enough smooth material left on the box end of the pipe to allow engagement of the band clamp. In the end the installation was successful but not pleasant. I could not find any reviews of the NextGen model air intake at all. Am I the first?
