Spot on
Bought this to keep an eye on the father in laws sats when he came out of hospital. Compared it alongside a different one and it was within 1% of the other one. That's accuracy for you. Display is excellent very clear and easy to read.Quality is amazing as well as accurate.Highly recommendGreat value for money too.

Instructions and battery terminals not easy to read.
Had great trouble reading the instructions. Small faded writing on white paper not easy to read. Especially if you have old eyes. I found the battery compartment different to other battery compartments I have used. The spring end is usually for the negative end of the battery. On this device one spring negative and one spring positive. The battery terminal markings are not easy to read either. Embossed on white plastic. Terminals markings in black against white would be nice. The device is easy to use and accurate. The display is clear. Its a shame it is spoiled by the instructions and the battery compartment.

Tested it in hospital over two days
Testing myself at home gave me the confidence to decide whether I needed to go into hospital. In the end I stayed 2 days and was able to match the readings on this portable device with the hospital machinery, over a quite a wide range of values. You need to have clean hands without creams, keep still, discount outliers and wait until the results settle, protect the device from falls and that is it. Two devices help determine if one set of readings is out. The values can jump about, but they also do this on hospital equipment. Also, if your oxygen levels are OK at rest, remember to test if your oxygen levels fall with exercise, which means the lungs aren't re-oxygenating fast enough. Lastly, hypoxia is quite serious, it can affect eyesight and brain function and can exist in a form called silent hypoxia, which is what I had.Edit** After a few weeks, the readings became unreliable and I bought an FDA approved one, which was black with blue text and stored the last dozen results. It is better from the point of view it delays giving you the results until it is accurate.

Calibration questionable
Initially I thought it was a good product. However an ambulance was called for me,recovering from pneumonia and oxygen read 82 or 83. Paramedic showed 86 87 and deemed the item needed recalibrated. I have no faith in it now. Very disappointed.
