Well written, interesting, funny and nostalgic - well worth a read if you were alive in the 80's

Took me about 10 minutes to read it. The book is aimed at vhs fans from USA not uk. It aimed at collectors from the US. Any body who was around when video was at its infancy or peak will learn nothing from this book. Could have written a far better book myself. God knows how this got published. It's like a ladybird book. Avoid. Don't waste your money

If you like holding VHS tapes in your hand, drooling over the box art, reading the interesting or fun and sometimes random descriptions on the back, and proudly displaying it on a shelf… you will like this book.

Well researched and overall a great read, whether you're already a VHS collector or just curious about the format, there's plenty of info in here covering the history of VHS, the various distriubtors and home video labels, some insight into a few highly sought after tapes, and even dispelling the BS internet articles that claim certain Disney VHS are worth more than your car.At the very least you will likely finish this book with a new appreciation for what is supposedly "dead" media.I'll be looking forward to any future installments or follow-ups!

Very rarely I find a book that captures my attention like this one. One of my favorite memories is hanging at the video store and talking movies. This book brings it back. My only complaint is that it’s not long enough and I love to see more pictures. But this is minuscule compared to the enjoyment I had reading this. It very well might bring me back into the VHS collecting game!!
