Pros:- This is a brilliant combination of being both informative and fun. So refreshing in an age of judgmental, scare-monger-based parenting advice.- Great layout. Nicely designed chapters with color printing.- Lots of illustrative photos, which are really useful.- British sense of humor (the author is a Guardian newspaper writer).Cons:- None!

This book is just lovely. Really cuts through the new baby mayhem with humor and common sense. I found it comforting and informative. It helped me to keep perspective and stand my ground when it came to keeping the mountain of baby paraphenalia to a minimum. The Blooming pregnancy book is superb- knowledgable and comprehensive without creating the "anticipation of complete disaster" atmosphere.

This book was helpful as a first time parent. I started to read this and noticed that it is a U.K. book. Some of the terminology is different but it was still very useful!

Great summary, not all of it applies ourside the uk, but helpful all the same.
