My 7 year old grandson lives with us, which means that I am constantly engaged in picking up Thomas the Train, NASCAR and worst of all, Legos. Brody enjoys assembling and flying the latest Starship, creating the next Minecraft excavation site and heads, body parts and armor for seemingly every minifigure Lego has made. My frustration is that upon being played with, many of the assembled structures tend to separate leaving loose pieces in a mixed jigsaw puzzle.These multicolor base plates allow Brody to keep most of the structural elements to be locked in place for future enjoyment without having to sort them back into piles of uncertain origen. (I sort by color and function by sandwich bag. I'm open to alternative suggestions.) Not only are these plates helpful, they were very reasonably priced compared to other online and eBay selling prices, and the colors match the Minecraft and other setting very well.I also appreciated Strictly Briks adding several Lego pieces of various sizes and styles at no additional cost to add to my collection of sandwich bags (sometimes large freezer bags as well).And yes, I'm retired and re-living my childhood as Brody's manservant. So, take my word, this is a very useful product for any Lego builder.

Among other items, these were left by Santa for my almost 10-year-old son with a set of 6x6 Strictly Briks camouflage base plates. They were received well, but it wasn't until later in the evening he really got into them. Next thing I knew, he had several of them out - some spread out, some he was building up - with lots of Lego scenes being created and his imagination running wild. They were exactly what I was hoping for in this regard! The product also seems sturdy. I imagine the higher you build, the more precarious the structure, but I don't see this being an issue as he will just use trial and error to know what works for him. We will be putting in a desk and shelving for a creative station in his room and these will be an integral part of keeping things organized. He likes to have all his creations out in full view - and his mother likes to not step on Legos. Win-win!

I try to be as helpful and honest as possible in my reviews so please like if it applies.Quality:- The quality is fantastic.I have read other reviews and it stated otherwise, but I cannot see any problem with the quality. The only real issue I can see people having with this is that it is much more thicker of base plates then lego plates.- It is sturdy and the instructions even tell you to increase the amount of support beams if you feel you want more structural integrity. I didn't feel the need and it has held up against my children's attacks.Value/Price:- This is where it outstrips the competition.Does it do what it intends to do? YES. Does it hold up and pieces feel strong and sturdy? YES. Is it much much much cheaper then any other lego base plates? YEEEESSSSS!!!! (by a lot!)Reason for 4 stars:- I had to give it 4 stars as it is not very compatible with other base plates. As much as I love these plates for displaying items or building on them with my kids.If you can overcome this issue (if that is not an issue) please realize it is definitely 5 star item outside of this!

A hit with the grands!

I am beyond displeased with this product. I purchased this for our Son for Christmas because he loves to build “towers” with his legos, so I thought this was perfect because he could build towers with this & add his legos to it to make it even bigger/taller. We usually put a few of his Christmas presents away & take them out later to avoid over stimulating our toddler, so we didn’t open these until just recently. I’ve tried twice now to help him build a tower with these & they are honestly crap. The plates are flimsy so I doubled them up so that they don’t snap in half when he’s adding legos once the towers is built, but the little pieces it comes with to use as support for the tower are super small & don’t stay well so as soon as he starts to play or put any other legos on, the entire thing collapses. I had my Fiancé try as well, he used to actually work at LEGO, & he said the same thing. Not to mention, this does not work well with legos, you have to really work them on the plates & even then they still pop off. I would never recommend this product to anyone & I regret ever buying it.

Ordered them because Lego does not have something similar: big plates that can be connected one on top of each other. My 4 year old uses is as a parking garage for his cars. We created a system of ramps from original Lego plates so that he is able to park the cars at the upper levels. However I am only giving it a 3 start because the quality is not that great. Even for an adult the pieces are quite difficult to put together because they keep snapping from the plates. The pieces are also very sharp at the edges and when you push them onto the plate and they snap (I got a few small finger injuries in the process). For the same reason it was also a bit frustrating for my son because the structure would sometimes collapse as the pieces snapped.

I was thrilled to find this quantity packaged at this sale price. I like to include base plates at Christmas time with builder sets, but they are usually all sold out in stores and online, or super expensive for a single plate. And they never include bricks with which to build up. This will allow a builder to construct multiple items and display them for longer than a day. The kid is happy and Mom/Dad don't have to worry about floor space.I personally am not a builder, so I don't have an opinion on color shades but I know it's important to have different colors for different areas and this package gives 3 (grass/water/city) . The bases appear to be the same construction/quality of others I have previously bought (and paid more for). I'm very happy with this purchase and can't wait to give it away to a deserving kid.
