The cake stand is pretty good, made of metal so no worrying about sturdiness. The rest of the stuff (a few icing tips and suchlike) are mediocre and not sufficient for proper cake making. There are other sets that offer much better accessories but I got this one for the metal turn-table.

This is a really great set for cake decorating.. the turntable is a good size, feels heavy and sturdy and turns really smooth. The spatula and frosting spreaders work well and are good quality.. not get used the piping bag and nozzles but there is a good selection of different nozzles. Would recommend.

I use it as a spinner for acrylic art. It runs smoothly.

This is a very decent revolving cake turntable which comes with a good selection of accessories ... Icing spatula, icing smoother x 3 plus a very useful set of icing nozzles and a pattern chart. This would make a lovely gift for anyone who enjoys decorating cakes.The 12" stand is all metal and being made from food grade aluminium alloy it is sturdy and the addition of a iron plate at the bottom gives stability.Apart from a slathering of rough icing and a few plastic reindeer and father Christmas decorations on top of a homemade Christmas cake I'm pretty useless in the cake decorating community, however, my best friend is fantastic at decorating cakes and has a real skill with fondant and royal icing. I gave her this turntable to try out and she loves it.She says it is a good size and at 12" can be used for birthday, anniversary and Christmas cakes. The turntable can be turned with one hand when required and the turning action is really smooth helping with the production of a layer of silky smooth glossy royal icing which my friend uses on anniversary and Christmas cakes, preferring the fondant icing for children's birthday cakes.Another good feature of this stand is its anti slip surface which means the cake is unlikely to move whilst smoothing icing around the sides.The accessories all work as they should but the icing nozzles are more suited to a novice cake icer rather than an experienced cake decorator whose likely to have a huge collection of better quality icing tools on hand.

Wowser, this is an ace turntable. Smooooth on the ball bearings, feels strong and will be very durable, you’ll have this for years, with a little judicious oiling of the bearings once in a while. I got this for my daughter who is quite a whizz at the whole decorating malarkey, and it’s far better quality than her old one which seems very tinny in comparison. However, it is £36 at the moment, whereas a turntable of equal quality on its own is about £25. I rather suspect you’re paying the extra tenner for the little bits and bobs that come with this - they make it a good set for a home baker or someone starting out with cake decorating but are a little bit basic. Don’t get me wrong, I’m hardly an expert but my daughter didn’t need any of them, she’s got much better nozzles and palette knife etc. So I don’t want to dish this as it is good, but may be worth shopping around? That said, don’t be fooled by the cheap turntables, they really don’t do the job properly and won’t last so become a false economy whereas this is ace. Four stars for the turntable, one off for the price of the additional not so good extras.

This is a really lovely cake turntable. It’s of solid metal construction, so is very stable on the worktop. The top part is shiny but with tiny circular grooves like a vinyl record.The turntable turns smoothly and silently; if you give it a good shove it turns and then slowly glides to a stop. It’s clear it’s got ball-bearings or something inside; it’s not just a top on a spike.All in all, it’s a really nice turntable and - since I didn’t already have one - will make cake-icing a bit easier.The accessories you get - basic cake icing equipment - are OK, but nothing to write home about. And by the time you get to the point of buying a turntable, you’ve probably got all that anyway. The turntable is the real star of the show.

This cake stand/decorating turntable is an absolute dream to use. For a start, it is so well made and looks fantastic. It has a good weight to it, combined with the non-slip base it is sturdy as anything. The turning action is completely smooth and seamless and makes no sound at all giving total confidence in decorating and displaying cakes with ease.There are a few accessories that come with it - a small angled pallet knife, a reusable icing bag with a coupler and 6 nozzles and a 3-pack of small dough cutters/scrapers. All of which are good quality and nice to have items. For me because they are basic decorating essentials, I already have these items so they are surplus to requirements but it is good to have spares.Everything is easy to use and clean, I have seen and read that the turntable is washable but personally I will gently clean it by hand as and when needed because I don't want to get the bearing mechanism wet. This is not to say that it can't be, it is just a personal preference. If there is one small thing I can say that I don't like about it is the grooved surface of the aluminium top, this is a bit more awkward to clean but not a big deal.The price of this set at time of ordering was £39.99, personally I thought that was quite high at first, I'm not sure that is a price I would have paid without seeing the stand/turntable first and my existing cheap and cheerful plastic one was less than £3. However, given the quality of the turntable on it's own the quality and finish is far superior and is one hell of an upgrade for me, the accessories are just a little bonus too. I am delighted with this set, it will make a big difference.
