My friend raved about this sauce so I decided to try it. No only was I disappointed in the flavor I was surprised with the poor packaging. It was just a bubbled envelope and as a result it spilled inside the envelop which could be the reason why the label looked very old and somewhat faded. I couldn’t tell the expiration date because the last digit in the year was missing. I will not be using this item. Will try to return it.

I absolutely love Yum Yum sauce, and have always bought this brand of it in stores. Decided to purchase it on Amazon since transportation is limited. Normally I get food products off Amazon and everything is fantastic but this one sucks. I opened the package and it looked like a bottle of oil, not sauce. I've never seen it seperated like that when purchased in store. Color was darker than normal. Obviously I shook it and taste-tested it, and even that was off. Consistency was very thin, the flavor was acidic and not the mildly sweet flavor it normally is (restaurant or store bought). Definitely something off in quality. Product doesn't expire until July.

I wish I could give a negative number of stars. I ordered two bottles to stock up. They were shipped in a bag-type envelope. How they didn't both break open is beyond me. One of the bottles had leaked some in the bag. (My dog was especially interested in the Amazon delivery that day.) But the label and the top were still attached. It has just loosened somehow.This stuff does NOT TASTE LIKE THE sauce at the Japanese restaurants like the bottle claims. I beg to differ. Waste of my time and money.

So I got my bottle today, an the lid was a little open. Some of the sauce was out of the bottle. So I washed it off an tried the sauce very good sauce. Can't wait to try it on sushi.

Gave as a gift to a yum yum sauce lover. She said it is very good!

Package came with two bottles, one wasn’t sealed very well but hasn’t killed me yet. Pretty similar to thousand island dressing. Probably won’t buy again.
