Mr. Peanut'sAspen Series Airline Approved Backpack Pet Carrier (Platinum Gray)

I used the aspen backpack carrier on international flights with Lufthansa and SAS. I was struggling to find a carrier that was 9” high as required by most international airlines and found this. It fits nicely under the seat on the international flights, however it barely fit on a United domestic flight (too wide, United dimensions are 11” for the width and this is 14”). I had to empty the side pockets and squeeze the bag to fit. Good thing my dog is small (7lbs) so he still had room in there. The backpack style was convenient to carry through transit at airports and the side pockets were a great feature to make things like baby wipes and a travel water bowl readily accessible. The quality of the bag seems pretty good and held up on several trips. The back zip section came in handy to store the required paperwork for international travel. I can’t imagine putting a laptop in there cos of how much extra weight that would add. Would definitely recommend this but with the caution that you may have difficulties on domestic flights depending on the size of your pet.

It feels very sturdy, and it feels amazing. I would have never bought this if it wasn't made by Mr. Peanuts because I knew that they were somewhat reliable from what I've seen.The dimensions are perfect for Southwest; they are only half an inch bigger on the width and height, but I think that I can get away with it. I measured some of the skinner parts that were a half an inch small than the edges that were larger as my proof in case they don't believe me.I will update this again when that day comes, but so far, it has been great.Update: Everything went perfectly. The person I got at the front desk wasn't too picky, so she did not even check my backpack for specific measurements. The photos may have been useless, but it is good to keep it just in case. The backpack has been excellent, and my dog was able to have support while on my back. He sometimes scratched at the mesh, but it did not do anything. (It was more durable than I thought)

Post-Flight Update: the carrier was absolutely perfect. Kitty felt very safe and practically jumped back inside once we got through security. It fit very well under the seat (United); even after changing planes to a much smaller commuter jet, it fit well-enough to pass the flight attendant's muster.Suggestion for improved product design: instead of velcro to secure the fleece lining, switch to snaps. Washing in washing machine caused it to stick to itself (and other items) from the velcro strips. Releasing the velcro significantly weakens the fabric. Best to wash these by hand separately and air dry.----------------I purchased this in anticipation of flying across country with my 8-lb cat. The soft-sided carriers are a way better choice in general for this purpose. Being able to “wear” my cat on my back is such a game changer because it allows me to be hands free to lug my suitcase, grab a water, keys, etc. Whilemy flight is a week away, I couldn’t wait to write this review! We’ve been testing it out to get her used to it, strapping her into the car using the front buckles - keeps her super safe and I don’t have to hang on the carrier when I go around a corner. I’ve taken her to the office. She voluntarily goes into it for naps. She loves it!! Great product and super light. Practical design that also looks really good.

Honestly a good buy and way better than those plastic window cat backpacks. Buddy was as comfortable as he could be on our cross country move. The backpack fit perfectly under the seat. The mesh is good, and provides great airflow and a little bit of privacy.I know that the dimensions are according to flight regulation, but I would say it’s a very tall/long backpack. The extra space wasn’t really needed considering my cat likes to be in compact spaces when he’s scared (I’m sure most cats are this way). Still, great quality and no issues whatsoever with the bag!

We love this bag! I wanted something that our pup (4, maybe 5 pound papillon puppy) could fly in, but also something he could travel in the car in, and also something I could carry him in on a walk if he got tired. I was asking a lot out of one bag, but this bag checks all the boxes! We even take it when we go out to dinner so he can have somewhere to retreat to should he choose.We flew Southwest with it for the first time recently. It slid right under the seat, no problem. I used it in the window and middle seats.We also bought the four wheel base from Mr. Peanut, which made wheeling him through the airport a breeze. It also freed up my back to carry my backpack on the plane.My pup really enjoyed the bag as well! He will frequently hop in it and look at me expectantly, as if saying, "Let's go!"10/10 recommend.

This is really well built and I am sure it will last for many years. Only thing I would change is the front clip connecting the shoulder straps is too low and might work for men but for women it is in a very uncomfortable spot on the breasts. If you lengthen the straps to the neck it sits well but then the carrier is so low on your back.I had to return mine as it was a bit bigger than the airline allows for my flights by an inch on the description which I thought would be fine but when it arrived and I measure it with the handle and bottom plastic pieces it ended up being two inches more and I can’t risk it. If it weren’t for the front strap issue I would have kept it for hikes etc as my 10 lbs Pomeranian seems super comfortable in it

Mr Peanut's has been absolutely fantastic! Fast shipping top notch quality, highly recommended.This is so versatile for when im on outdoor adventures with my little one. Backpack and as a portable soft crate. Such a game changer!

On Utilise ce sac en Moto et ca va tres bien. Par contre, on a ajouté un morceau de foam pour la partie du bas et on l'a inserer dans le zip pour que le chien soit plus confortable.

I purchased the backpack last year in December 2023 and it still looks brand new. Although the fleece on the inside is coming off due to my cat scratching.The outer material is sturdy and holds well. I like that the mesh is doubled. My cat tried to scratch but the mesh still looks brand new.When my kitten (5 pounds then) first walked into the backpack she purred a lot! She really likes it!! Now she is 9 pounds and it fits her well. She has room to turn around.It is heavy when I carry her. My back hurts. But when I put in the front straps the weight is distributed to my body.Suggestions:When I put her in the car, I put the safety belt on only when the backpack sits up. There are no hooks to put the safety belt when I lay down the back pack. My cat likes to lie down.The depth is narrow. When I put items on the back pocket (laptop) the space for the cat narrows.Please provide replacements for the fleece. I can see my cat completely destroying it in the future.

This carrier has great travel features and appeared promising. But did not work for me because it was too heavy, zippers /pulls weren't sturdy enough and most importantly to store the bag under the seat it front of you, it must lie on its back and horizontally there is not enough room for your pet to sit up /raise their head. Easy return process.
