Worked for a few days, then will not stay set ... disappointed ...
I really would have preferred NOT writing this review. I liked the product when I first received it, the instructions were clear, and for the first couple of days, it caught a couple of critters. I was pleased. Then, the traps would not stay set. They started going off by themselves. I cleaned them thoroughly, and tried resetting them while placed on a table. After 30 to 90 seconds, they would snap. Upon closer examination, I discovered that the clasp just barely contacts the bar, and because the spring is very powerful, it quickly slides off. You can see the issue in the picture ... and I can find no way to adjust it.I bought a 4 pack, and 3 of the traps have the same problem after only a few days of use. I've tried reaching out to the company but there is no response to either my Amazon email, or a direct email. I've asked if there is something I can do to adjust these so they will work. I'll update this review IF I ever hear back from them.UPDATE: May 23, 2017 I was hoping this could "work out" since apparently it had for someone else. I did receive an email from the company saying they would be happy to replace the items if I provided the order number and shipping address. I did that TWICE. The only thing I've received since then was silence. The photos are pretty clear ... it's a faulty product ... and sadly though so many have had the same result, the company is not standing behind their product. So sad ...

Rodents turned me into a cold-blooded killer
Look... I'm an animal lover and I have a hard time killing much of anything other than ants, mosquitoes, and flies. I can't even kill a spider; I fear them but they are VERY beneficial so I relocate them. But push me long enough and suddenly finding a fuzzy little carcass becomes my morning joy before making a cup of coffee.Rats and mice are a part of canyon life...I know that. Technically my house is located in THEIR HOME. And we could coexist along with the hundreds of black windows in my yard I acknowledge. Just leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. Well, the rodents aren't playing by the rules for my yard and garden so it was time to bring out the big guns. At first, I returned to my victor electronic traps and zapped 2 giant mutant well-fed rats and 1 super-sized obese mouse. And then nothing... That seems to be the trend with those traps; they wise up.I've gotten the old-school wooden traps before and was too terrified of them to continue to use and promptly threw in the trash. They are just so scary to set up and I like keeping my limbs intact. When I did a search on amazon for rat traps I found those black plastic claw types that were far less intimidating - esp since you were supposed to face it into a wall for side traffic. But falling down the rabbit hole of customer reviews they didn't seem effective. Even horror stories of snapping onto rats but not killing them and having to manually finish the job. No thanks!!!Someone recommended Kat Sense as being more effective and that led me to find this product which seemed more effective than the plastic claw option. Reviews and photos were solid, so I gave it a go. I was very eager to start using so I bought enough items to qualify for next day shipping and promptly received it early the next day. I put some rubber gloves on (to block my scent) and took a toothpick and wiped a small amount of peanut butter low and to the side of the bait hole then pulled the lever back and clicked it into place. SO EASY and not intimidating at all!! Then I placed around my yard in spots the rodents were likely to travel and far away from my hippie bare feet to accidentally forget about.I was tempted to buy the 6 pack but settled on the 4 since I didn't know if it was going to work. I found that was the sensible approach since the odds of killing 6 all in a single night [would be amazing, but] was highly unlikely. And that has proven to be the wise choice since I have only caught a single rodent each time. I caught a big guy the very first night, placed next to some potted milkweed they have been eating up to bare stems. Then the next night I got one over by my fence line next to my fountain >:) The 3rd night, not a single trap was set off and I was sad but you can't win 'em all. Then the 4th night, I surprisingly caught a very small one (baby rat, I think?) after I witnessed a rodent literally falling from the sky when I opened my back door. That's how bad things have gotten for me - it's raining rodents!!! They run on the roof and onto my tree... they have gotten into the crawl space of my kitchen through the vents...they are absolutely everywhere and destroying everything they can. But so far, there are now 6 that can do no more harm, bwahahaha! So my experience in a short amount of time has been very positive. They are easy to use, not scary, effective, and sturdy. I read some reviews saying they fall apart or are too sensitive and get set off. Must be faulty items because mine havent snapped shut without including a lovely dead rat along with it and I have been able to open them up, toss the rat, then set them back up again and continue to kill more >:)Highly recommend!! Like most rat trap reviews, the photos speak for themselves.

We love our girls and are non violent people but we ...
We bought these rat traps to "catch" rats that somehow made a home in our chicken coop. We love our girls and are non violent people but we had to make a stand when it came to our "babies". My husband caught one rat, then two...he has disposed of a half dozen rats in that many days. Thanks to your product, we have safe chickens and peaceful sleep at night. Thank you.

RAT TRAPS THAT WORK!!!
I pretty much agree with everything said in the other reviews here. I've been using these for a few months and have caught seven rats so far and a mouse. These rodent traps are extremely good at catching rats -- I've never had a rat trap go off without catching a rat. This is important because you don't want the rats to get trap-shy. I'm not convinced that the traditional type of snap trap is any better. In other respects, these traps have it all over the traditional wooden traps. They are very easy to set and never go off by accident while you're placing the traps. The bait cup is cleverly designed and well-positioned. Not only have I never had a trap go off without catching a rat, but I've also never had bait stolen. I get the impression that trap positioning has a lot to do with the way the rat ends up getting caught. With traditional trap positioning along walls, I don't think the rat is necessarily even after the bait in many cases -- it just happens to blunder into the trap as it's going about its business. Anyways these Rat Traps work for me.
