Q: I am 6’6”. Would this be long enough? How far does the extension go?

The height guide printed on the adjuster maxes out at 78”. Perhaps a better measurement would be the under arm to ankle length of 57.5”. If your body measurement is less than this, you are probably good to go.

Q: Sometimes I like to stretch.......release .........stretch.......release......what are your thoughts on that?

The stretching machine is very usable as long as you don't have any replacement parts such as knees or hip joints .I couldn't use it for this reason . It is used by hooking your feet under two rollers on the bottom. and two post under your arm pits. It is then adjusted with a ratchet crank, and you are stretching.

Q: Can the lever be held in place by a mechanism or do you have to manually hold the lever to maintain the stretch?

There is a ratchet mechanism. Pull it toward you it stretches you and clicks in place. I usually pull 1 or 2 clicks at a time. When you are done you push down on the handle and it releases the ratchet. I love this thing. Try to use every other day for 10 min or so.
