Install tips that helped
Holding the unit in my vice allowed me to push the plunger in and out several times. It was sticky at first, but loosened up after a few cycles. I added a drop or two of WD-40, and it began to move smoothly. When the plunger is pushed all the way into the ferrule the tension on the spring becomes less, allowing you to remove the choke mechanism on the end of the spring. Be sure to install the unit on your carburetor with the plunger pulled all the way out so the spring is seated correctly in the ferrule as it goes into the carb. The adjustment nut took a drop or two of medium strength Loctite to keep it in place while I had it in the vice. I adjusted it just to wear it would not pull itself back in with the spring tension being sure that I could smoothly pull it out and push it back in and it would stay in both positions before installing on the bike. Seems to work great.

Great KLR 650 Modification
After working on my 2016 KLR 650, i accidentally broke the old plastic plunger from the cable that runs up to the handle bars. I've wanted to free up some cable space from the handle bars, and this was a great modification. You will have to re-use your needle/plunger from the old choke cable, and attache it to the new choke.Works great. A little harder to reach, but thats fine. Build, and craftsmanship on this is good. Seems like it will stand up for the long haul.

Better than the stock plastic garbage
Works great on my 08 KLR 650. Seems to be built well and half the price of the other options. My only real gripe is that doesn't have a way to hold itself open so I have to keep my hand down by the carb for a few seconds as the bike gets started. Also, it seems like to activate the enrichment circuit it needs to be pulled *all* the way out with a little tension on it. There's an adjustment nut though so I might play around with that to see if I can find a sweet spot. Other than that, it showed up fast, seems to be built well, and does the job it's mean to do.

Works like a Champ on my 09 KLR
Received and installed it 2 day. Bike fired right up and idles smoothly at 1400 rpms. Pull out the enricher and she dies. Works like it should. Its on a 2009 klr650. Yes i did use my old plunger and spring. Will take a little to get used to it but i got rid of that old plastic choke adapter that everyone wanted 80 buck for. Highly recommend.

Doesn't work for Diddly.
Not sure what is wrong with this thing...haven't had time to take it out. My choke cable broke some time ago, and it never worked that well anyway. This 'would have' been the perfect replacement, if it actually worked. Not sure why, but it provides almost NO choke. I've tried it fully screwed in, and even backed out. No matter what I do, it barely provides enough chock to start my KLR when its cold...in fact, most of the time it wears the battery down now trying to get it to fire enough times to warm up and stay idling. Never had this problem with the broken cable I just tied in knot and held by hand....lame. I never bothered to return it, didn't have the time. Maybe you will have better luck...my KLR is quite old, but low mileage for its years.

Just got it
So there is no resistance when I pull out the choke. It just goes back in rite away. Also can’t screw the adjuster nut all the way in to add some resistance. Any suggestions?I will try it out for a few days to see what happens.
