Cage has a very attractive appearance and so far has been really enjoyed by my hamster who kept chewing through her bin cage!

i didnt even follow the instructions. i built it upside down. easier that way, in comparison. i struggled for an hour and a half just putting it together. 99 minutes to be exact. but hey, my mice love it.but it could use a bigger side door for easier access.

My 6 month old dwarf hamster, Lili, is in HEAVEN with this new Grosvenor cage that was shipped to me by Amazon UK to America in 4 days! I assembled it in about 20 minutes. You have to push the bars hard so they click, then everything is perfect. I got the black cage. This is the most beautiful cage ever! It is 30 x 18 x 14 inches. That is 540 square inches of floor space. The second floor platform is 10 x 8 x 18 inches or close to 180 square inches of additional floor space. The base is 5 inches deep, for lots of bedding. My hamster is estatic! She is jumping off the platform for fun as well. Thank you for designing such a beautiful cage!

The company that made this wouldn't do anything because I bought it on Amazon. The manufacturer should take responsibility not Amazon. The hamster chewed through it. I highly urge you not to buy this.

The cage arrived quickly and the only problem I had assembling it was a wooden platform falling out. I secured it with extra wires. Deep enough for thick layer of bedding and a bigger wheel. Not a huge space for many toys like Ikea 'Detolf' cases may offer. I have a dwarf hamster and this cage is a great upgrade for us. Wish I had more space to build a huge, fancy enclosure I saw on YouTube but right now I think it was a great purchase.

Wood inserts destroyed within days.Plastic bottom is chewable, the cage is NOT escape proof.Wood shelves had to be replaced quickly.I don't believe I would recommend this. I don't have peace of mind knowing my ratties can't escape... I should have got a Critter nation.

Do not get this product! My gerbils have chewed through the top. If it has plastic don't bother getting it gerbils will just chew through it. So frikin disappointed

At the start I did struggle to get the cage built but with a lot of brute strength we got it built and still to this day it’s a fantastic cage for my mouse! Easy to clean lots of space the woods ledges don’t last long due to rodents destroying wood very fast but I love this cage gives my boy so much space !

Awesome cage. I have a seven month old Syrian hamster named Mary. Usually very quiet and sweet natured. But the minute she was let loose it this fabulous cage, she became superwoman. Had a good sniff round and then ran around it like a child in a playground. She loves it so much. And I am so happy , because she is. I put it up myself without much trouble and as you can see, made a few touches of my own. So pleased I bought this it’s huge and great big lid to Acess hammy and to put things in and out. Perfect :)

Wow, biggest hamster cage I've ever had but it provides the floor space they need to be happy. Though I struggle to get through doors with it!For those owning hamsters for the first time, they don't need height and they could really hurt themselves with a fall. They need floor space, with one or two platforms. Plenty of room for enrichment and plenty of places to hide. Don't provide them with platforms,ladders or wheels that are wire (yes there are many products being sold that are not suitable!) as hamsters can get their legs stuck and break them.The photos show my set up with the 28cm Trixie Ferris wheel on its stand (huge but the perfect size for a Syrian) and the 500ml terracotta bowl for the sand bath. The wheel that comes with the cage is only big enough for a dwarf hamster and the plastic house isn't big enough for a Syrian either. I have a wooden house under the platform.I put it together myself easily and I'm no DIY fan. Easy to clean. Obviously no side opening door which is different for me but I use ramps to let the hamster climb out when they're ready. Also I've often had trouble with hamsters escaping from side doors so it's probably a blessing!

We wanted our pet Syrian hamster a larger home as we realised that the RSPCA in the UK recommend a hamster cage which is a minimum of 75 x 40 x 40cm. With dimensions of L: 78cm W: 48cm H: 36cm, it might have slightly less headroom but Cookie absolutely loves her new home and is able to stand up to full height on her hind legs standing on the top platform. We haven't used the food bowl or the wheel as both are more suited for dwarf hamsters so too small for her use. Easy to assemble, it was ready for its new inhabitant within an hour of being delivered. Lower rating for cleaning as the size makes it quite bulky to handle but that was to be expected. Really, really pleased with our choice.

The cage has a decent frame, but everything else wasn't very useful. I've been using this for a few months and have had to replace most of the inside.Pros:- bars didn't rust- plastic bottom is solid and doesn't get chewed- easy to cleanCons:- the door is quite high up, meaning it's difficult for the rats to get in and out on their own, and it's scary for them when you reach in at first- the wooden platforms and ramps absorb all the pee, so they start to stink after a month or so. I've since replaced them with hammocks and lava ledges.- the door on the front doesn't close securely and they can open it accidentally (and on purpose once they'd opened it accidentally a few times...). I had to take one of the clips used to hold the base and use it on the door.- a minor point, but the accessories that came with it were completely useless. A tiny, clear plastic house and tiny, light plastic food bowl. They went straight in the bin.Overall, it's decent for the price, but I'd rather pay more and get a more useful cage if I were to buy one again.

This is a great product. Above all it provides a good amount of space for the hamster, which is a priority. It has a bigger floor area than the vast majority of cages on the market. It is easy enough to assemble for my 12 year old daughter to do it. Cleaning is easy and, although some people have criticised the base as being insufficiently sturdy, it is perfectly strong enough for the job and it is light and easy to clean.I was sceptical about the wooden shelf and whether it would be easy to clean, but so far it has cleaned up really well and is a nice surface for the hamster.The house and wheel provided are too small for a Syrian hamster (note to manufacturer: dont include the house, but provide a good 8inch wheel). We replaced the wheel with a larger one and Fudge, the hamster, happily made his bed under the shelf, saving floor space and need for a house.The roof is hinged, so it is easy to lift your hamster out and put him or her back, but the clever design makes it hard for the hamster to escape even with the lid up.We purchased a couple of tubes and suspended these with plastic ties from the bars (see picture) to add interest to the cage for Fudge, but that's all. I consider this as one of the best hamster cages we have had (and we have had lots of them) and, as you can see, Fudge likes it too!
