good plate mounting screws! they are strong and are easily cut to size to avoid bumper damage
These were great to use on my front plate mount on my car. I liked them especially well because after I mounted my license plate, I was able to easily cut them to size on the back of the plate mount so that they would not rub against the bumper and damage the paint.

fragile but get the job done!
I read the other reviews before ordering these, but figued I'd give them a try since I bought the Cruiser screw covers then found out that the heads on the screws that came with my car were to wide to fit into the covers. I started on the back plate and I was able to screw it in just fine...but then I gave it one-last-turn...and broke the head off the screw. Since the screws for the back plate on my car go into the trunk, I was able to twist it loose from the inside with a wrench without having to resort to drilling it out. I was much more careful finishing off the back plate. I figured I'd need to order another set to replace the broken screw...until I got to my front plate and realized these screws don't fit (I'd have tried to force it, which I'd have tried if I didn't know they were so fragile already)! My car is an import, so the screws fit the rear plate, but I realized that many cars don't have the front plate holes pre-drilled and many dealerships drill them themselves (this was also evidenced by the original screws for the front being different than the back). Being that I like to try to figure out a problem without just solving it the 'easy' way (especially if I will have to wait for parts to come), I went sorting through my stockpile of screws and found two that I thought would work for the front plate and voila! :) I gave them 3 stars because they do serve their purpose and fit perfectly into the Cruiser screw covers. I'd recommend the plastic screws, especially if you need to cut down the length of the screw (which I thought I might need to do), just be CAREFUL when screwing them in, one too many turns can cause a HUGE headache! Oh, and FYI, the bolts that come with the screws are also plastic, see the second picture in the listing, the primary is incorrect.

Cruiser's Inept Description + my Faux Pas = DO your HOMEWORK!
I admit, 'apparently' I should have done my research and found out exactly what size screws are required for the rear license plate on my X3 BMW... but who woulda thought I had to be that thorough here at Amazon. I've trusted them for years! Sure, at times I check or double-check stuff... but come-on - they're screws AND it's just a license plate frame!!!So, I find myself here trying to help you save a wasted hour out of your day. Please do not let the product description fool you...."The 6mm x 25mm bolts are designed for use with import vehicles"The screws are nice.... however they in no way, shape, or form screw into the secured plate holder on the rear of an BMW X3. Now, perhaps I own an American-made BMW, but I'm gonna think not; yet according to Cruiser, BMW does not fall into the category of 'import.' The screws DO however hold the frame that I bought from Cruiser to the license plate quite well -- and not to mention it all looks darn good (got the 20050 Classic Lite Blk frame).... but without being able to attach the whole system to the permanent plate holder on the rear of the vehicle, this does not bode well for my purpose.Mind you, an hour later I had finally secured the 'above scenario' with 2 of my own screws into the top of the vehicle plate holder and was happy enough to use the purchased screws at the bottom of the new Cruiser frame (and license plate) without actually securing them to the plate holder BUT only after having to cut them to a much shorter length. Basically, the new frame is now secured to the vehicle plate via 2 machine screws (mine) at the top and 2 nut&bolt Cruiser bolts at the bottom.... however, the bottom of the frame and plate is not secured to the permanent plate holder on the vehicle (just the frame and license plate are secured together.) This has now created a rattling noise that I further had to fix by putting some heavyduty closed cell foam behind the bottom of the plate.I've since googled X3 screws for rear license plates; I now know exactly the size of the screws that I need (but not the exact length - can't find it)... so.........this too is your job should you choose to take it - DO your homework and find out the exact diam of your vehicles screws. I like the nylon cuz a) they're black and more important b) they're rustproof, and c) they can be cut to the length you'll need. Just be sure to be gentle with them. Furthermore, I don't rec any screw 'covers' -- they'll just lead to rust and crap and more crap, especially if you don't use stainless steel screws. So, hopefully.... with next week's arrival of my proper 'import vehicle' screws (nylon-yes, from Cruiser-no) --- even considering this a 'start-over', what should have taken ten minutes will now take only five.... here's to hope!I wish you....not needing 'every tool in the box',not having to run back upstairs every 15 minutes, more important -- not waiting 5 minutes for the elevator in order to get back upstairs, and most important -- a groovy moment once it's all said & done!>>>>> PEACE, LOVE, & URBAN INFORM! <<<<<

Cheaper Locally M6 x 20mm is a better size for most
I need license plate screws for the back of my 2013 VW Passat TDI SEL (which I love). You can just go to your local big box or hardware store and purchase M6 X 20mm screws. The 25mm are to long for most people. Any less that 20mm might be to short, especially if you want to mount a plate with a nice holder. I purchased the OEM Volkswagen plate holder and everything seems to work perfectly, they even provided the proper rubber spacers. Try and get zinc plated or stainless steel to prevent rust. Plus always use the license plate screw covers (they give a nice finish and prevent people from easily removing your plates).Good luck to all.

Does NOT fit e9X BMW
These look great and clearly will not corrode, but they do NOT fit a BMW e9X series (3 series 2007-2012). They are M6 and are too big.

Plastic feel
Positives: Fits my car (2007 Infiniti G35) license plate holes. Strong enough to do its job.Negatives: In the picture, screws and fasteners look metallic, but it's important to note "Nylon" in the title. Screws and fasteners have plastic feel. I hope they last long time, but I have my doubts.Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase. Screws are longer than it looks. Screwheads are smaller than I expected. But they work well with cruisers screw covers.

Not Exactly as Shown...
The nuts with this kit are all plastic, not as shown in the picture. This is not necessarily bad, in fact... I prefer it that way.

Breaks Easily.
After a few months, these nylon screws broke off one by one. I replaced them with stainless steel screws instead.
