SkagenAaren Men's Watch or Women's Watch, Silicone Watch for Men or Women

I have been wearing Skagen watches for over 30 years now. I bought my second after the one I had worn for years disappeared at a friends of hte library sale. I loved that watch, in large p[art because it was so thin and light that you could hardly tell you were wearing it. SAince Fossil bought the company, they have not been as thin, and I wish Amazon would put thickness back in the descriptions because that is the dimension I used when I searched for watches. That said, this is not as thin as the old Skagens, some of which were 3mm thick, and many around 5-6mm. This watch is 8 mm, which is still thinner than most of the current line, but twice as thick as the old watches. Because it has an aluminum case it is very light. I was surprised to see this described as a unisex watch, given the size, but it does work. My wrists seem to be on the thin side, jusging by my having to wear most watches on the last hole, but it does work for me. It fits my wrist and is comfortable, and at this size is something of a statement piece. I prefer Skagen's mesh bands to silicone, but do like that it is color coordinated.. which is all that has stopped me from replacing the band with one of their mesh bands, which in my opinion, are the best fitting, most comfortable watch bands available. I live in the tropics, so having flow through mesh means more to me than it does most people. The silicone band is comfortable, except when it is 80-90 degrees, which it often is in Hawaii. I may replace it before summer, but it works fine at this time of year and is attractive with the watch.

Have always like the Skagen line of watches, nicely styled, larg(er) faces & LIGHT, not like some of the 2+ LB monsters around today

The media could not be loaded. I love the look, feel, and how slim and minimalistic this watch is. I swapped out the band for a leather band and really enjoyed wearing this watch until one day I accidentally dropped it and the minute hand no longer worked (see video). It wouldn't move unless you bumped it. I tried getting into the watch to try to fix it but it's nearly impossible to open it unless you have the proper tools. It's a bummer it didn't last as I really enjoyed it.

Love this watch. I own about 18 Skagen watches. I got the Poplar Red Aaren Kulor watch in January from an Amazon seller and the battery died in September. Be VERY careful replacing the battery as I easily and accidentally pulled the motor through the face ripping off the hands. Destroyed. Sad.

My wife and I own 2 Skagen Aarens each and we love these watches. They are exceptional looking--especially for the price. They're light weight and easy-to-forget-you're-wearing as you go throughout your day. The silicone is high-quality and super-comfortable on the wrist. In the women's size, there is a bundle you can find online for a grey case and five bands; I bought this for my wife and now she has endless color combinations with a pink, blue and the aforementioned grey case. I own the men's 41mm blue and red model and love them. In addition to my two Skagen Aarens, I own a solar Skagen Sol Espresso--which is my favorite watch of all-time and usually only reserved for when my wife and I go out on a date. My two Aarens are worn daily pretty much and are holding-up great. I recommend you purchase a dedicated toothbrush natural hand soap, Q-tips and isopropyl alcohol for cleaning the silicone and crystal--and get yourself a watch case for $20 if you don't own one yet--good investment for protection. LOL, I just remembered that I even bought my daughter the women's light blue Aaren for her 25th b-day, so that again tells you how much I like these watches... great watches for the price... scored all of mine in the $50 to $63 range.
